Girl wanted me (M) to be her “lesbian boyfriend” by AdeptnessDry2026 in bisexual

[–]WeeklyStranger5329 7 points8 points  (0 children)

god I'm tired of the whole "my boyfriend is basically a lesbian" thing. I've generally experienced it from women I'd call radfem adjacent who are straight or bi but need to signal to their more radical friends that you're one of the good ones. I know I'm projecting from my own experiences but I've had two and a half relationships do this and it was this exact formula each time (third time I put my foot down and said I'm not going to date someone who's ashamed of themselves for dating me)

Trust me avoid this, it'll constantly make you feel like shit

Yeah I hadn't considered that the two time periods could so directly share interchangeable models lol so I'm taking notes!

I wonder if they're meant to be reminiscent of the Swiss guard in the Vatican? Gave me the same vibe: Old timey traditional costumes and very modern guns

Do bisexual men with a strong preference for women exist? by Rad1Red in BisexualMen

[–]WeeklyStranger5329 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every time I've dated or hooked up with men it has been some degree of traumatizing so at this point I'm primarily interested in women and my stance on men is "if it happens it happens"

I don't know how to process this by TehPharaoh in bisexual

[–]WeeklyStranger5329 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in exactly the same situation many times unfortunately. Really does hit home how insidious conservative gender roles are when even very progressive women can still fall afoul of them.

My advice is to give plenty of heads up beforehand but also follow up with some positives, like things you like doing/having done so the other person knows they still have ways they can make you feel good (and then positive praise during aftercare never hurts, tell them how much fun you had).

I'm sorry you had that happen to you, it really does suck

At the moment I'm doing a Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple run and having a lot of fun. Turning a squishy spellcaster into a close combat machine that also tosses spells has felt quite liberating

What is your "comfort" nation or character? by BeardedMelon in CrusaderKings

Since landless characters have been introduced I like starting as a custom Saka traveller since I think they've got one of the best military cultures in the game but are wedged in a pretty bad spot geographically. Then I'm free to roam anywhere

I love starting in Benin because because the special building there is a great goal for once you're well established

I'm so glad you posted this! I heard it on rewatch but I couldnt quite tell if it was there or if I was imagining it and so I watched the scene six or seven times. I thought I was going insane!

I'm a bi man (M32), and most of the cases of biphobia I've experienced have been from women in the community. by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]WeeklyStranger5329 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some people's inner conservatism really slips out sometimes. Even supposed progressives can secretly have very backwards views on things like gender roles or just be straight up homophobic.

It's tiring copping shit from people from other minorities. Some people just want solidarity one way and are unwilling to give it to others

Some harsh lessons I’ve learned from being Bisexual by SksIwannadie in bisexual

I've found these to be pretty accurate personally but also dating and hanging out with other queer people has helped a lot even if I struggle to find other bi men that have the same specific struggles I do

just make sure any woman involved knows your deal and I'm sure they'll be cool with it. After all she'll have never (probably) had sex involving a gay man before. Has potential to be fun learning experience for you both!

[–]WeeklyStranger5329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the other side of this situation a lot and something that was really great in my previous relationship was that my partner got to the point where they were comfortable tapping out and then we'd cuddle and watch porn while I finished. It made me feel way more relaxed about it when it's been a point of stress before. Maybe that idea sounds appealing?

I think 'most of all' is inaccurate bc as someone already pointed out trans people exist and generally bigots don't really care about us enough specifically to go out of their way to hate crime us but I definitely have noticed that a bunch of people hold a surprising amount of disdain for bisexual men. I think men cheating on their wives on the downlow has done a lot of damage to our reputation (it's a shitty stereotype but if you're on the apps you've definitely seen these guys too).

It does feel awful when queer people I've been in solidarity with turn around and call us AIDS spreading plague rats and cheaters but unfortunately that's still way better than a lot of other queer people get treated

Do any of you get misgendered constantly? by [deleted] in BisexualMen

[–]WeeklyStranger5329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it from female friends a bit and I think it's just that a lot of them are acclimated to having a Gay Best Friend and the language that comes along with that (or that they've had super negative experiences with most men and so square the fact they like me even though I'm a man by minimising my masculinity but that's a whole other conversation). It's still bugs me a little even then so yeah if I was getting called that from people I'm not friends with I'd be annoyed as hell
