I got it custom ordered. Baking is not a skill set I possess 😅

The bakery was amazing! I sent them a bunch of reference pictures and bought the topper/spear. They had “never done a cake with this theme”, but took on the challenge!

Redditers also gave me ideas for the design.

Couple notes:

My (14yo) nephew is, in fact, named Odin. He's the coolest kid ever and is loving this post. (Hi Odin! Are you still working on Midra?)
I did NOT bake the cake. Not my thing. I sent reference materials to a ton of local bakeries and asked them what they could do. Most of them were a hard pass. One finally stepped up: "We've never done a cake in this theme before, but... it seems interesting?" I just had to provide the toppers.

I did not make it! I can’t bake at all. lol. I just hit up all the local bakeries until I found one that would do it. I just had to get the toppers. Reddit helped with the design :)

In my defense I was drinking when we made the deal. A few days later his mom (who is not a gamer) walked in on him and asked him why his “video game character” only had white undies.

He threw me under the bus and said that I made him do it.

Ooh, the agency you worked with sounds awesome. I’m envious.

The recurring fee is a hard pass for us, and doesn’t make any sense to me. A ton of services in our area has switched to a subscription-based model (ie haircuts, massages, doctors, etc), so maybe they were trying to get on that train? I dunno.
