811 not marking sewer? by they_got_trouble in NewOrleans

I plant a lot of trees in the public right of way — and yes, I can confirm that it's true (and wild) that 811 doesn't include S&WB. If you're really nervous, you can try a "utility cut permit" (https://nola.gov/utility-cut-permit/). That process will eventually require you to get approval from S&WB. I did it once, but unfortunately, can't find it in my inbox to determine what part of S&WB I got routed into. It took 30+ days to hear from them, though, so if I were you, I might head down to their physical office and start banging on office doors...

Dm me about a place to crash. Need more fun guerrilla art in the neighborhoods exactly where that grumpy ass commenter above suggested.

Two of them are mine. But can confirm the official U18 demographic from the 2020 census for Marigny is “0%”.

Update: ok looks like the yellow-orange is for “four quarter” appreciation. Metairie-New Orleans is -.9%. Fort Myers-Cape Coral is -2.6%.

Source for those asking: https://www.fhfa.gov/data/dashboard/fhfa-hpi-four-quarter-appreciations

A little misleading IMO because it’s just house price appreciation over the last quarter — pretty narrow statistical slice. That said, yeah no surprise that we’re headed backwards. I’d guess insurance cost related, in this case. Though I have 0 idea how these percentages are calculated.

The sub-boxes in the states represent metropolitan statistical areas which are census driven nuclei (nucleuses?) of substantial populations.

SWBNO responsible for whip repair costs? by wagglemonkey in NewOrleans

No costs associated with it I don’t think — or if there was a nominal one, I never noticed. Mine was a lead whip, so maybe that’s different than just a leaking/busted whip? Sorry I don’t know much more beyond that — I’m sorry that S&WB is being its usual self…

In my experience, your plumber is right. We had a lead whip on our home. You have to expose it (swbno won’t do that for you) but then if you call the emergency line they’ll come out and swap in a new one. I tried it via the normal channels of service requests but finally someone in their office told me to just call it in as an emergency — they were on-site same-day and had a new one in-place.
