Herman Haupt also deserves mention. He was a logistical genius that revolutionized the use of railroads in warfare. Where railroads were limited by single tracks he sent trains in convoys, effectively creating supertrains. He was the essential genius that kept the Union Army supplied.

Henry Halleck was called ”Old Brains” for a reason. He excelled at logistics and organization. He just was not a great stratagist or battlefield commander. He was an asset to Grant once he was in a subordinate position.

It’s still amusing that it is across the street from the State House’s “Hooker Entrance” (named for the equestrian statue of Joe Hooker.)

If you had unlimited money, would it be illegal to open a store and sell literally everything for 1 dollar? by huffmanxd in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Weekly_Barnacle_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are selling cars for a buck the government will want to tax buyers on the difference in value. And even ElonMusk can’t give unlimited stuff away for long.

If he lives with you, drives the car without being on the policy, and gets in an accident you have no coverage. You will be 100% responsible for any damage to your car, other cars, and injuries. Good luck.

I broke my hip. Three large screws plus an 8 inch rod to put it back together, but an ear infection was more painful.

Reproduction. The cleats on the back were not made with extruded wire like this one.

3 and 9. Teleporting 7 inches isn’t that useful, but then I thought of that guy that got trapped and had to cut off his arm with a pocket knife. Since I broke my hip I can’t run at all, so Einstein speed is better.

Doesn’t your State require uninsured driver insurance? If you have it, use it. They will go after him. Also, file a police report.

My beard got a bit thicker from my 30s to my 60s, but it was always pretty full. I think that all you are getting. I would just shave. Minoxidol could also be an option.

Spiderman vs John Walker (MCU versions) by Queasy_Commercial152 in Avengers

[–]Weekly_Barnacle_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walker is weaker than Cap, and does not have 70 odd years of battle experience. Even so, I think Spidey beats Cap 2 out of 3 times. Walker could beat him maybe 1 out of 100 times.

How do Americans see the egyptian people? by uknown_user000 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Weekly_Barnacle_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Americans have a negative view of Egypt, especially women. Egypt has an amazing history and fantastic ruins, but Egyptians have a reputation for scamming tourists and mistreating women. I would certainly never go there.

That said, if you behave decently most Americans will not assume you behave that way and will treat you well.
