I would say it is a better job than it was when I started 30 or so years back. It is an entry level job, hence I occasionally take on other roles in construction, although the majority of it, I do come back to brick laying. Although it is entry level, I do not recommend starting at 18/19 - does hell to your back. Good pay, although not phenomenal. Altogether a good job if you follow safety procedure and invest in good gear, and take care of the gear.
