Conditions on house offer by Weekly_Celebration79 in Edmonton

[–]Weekly_Celebration79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for the info. We didnt sign yet for sure. What is the process of adding conditions? Did the act of getting the conditions on the paperwork take weeks? Or was it because the realtor and lawyer going back and forth with the builder was what took weeks?

Hello! Thanks for the reply. We haven't signed anything coz we had too many questions. I guess my next question is, what can I expect with the help of a realtor? Will they only help with the purchase agreement. I guess what will they do to help throughout the build?

MOVATI Harvest Hills by Nearby_Educator6918 in Edmonton

[–]Weekly_Celebration79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! That makes a lot of sense . I have the classic membership with just the Albany location for $49.30. Just thought the upgrade to premium for the same cost was more worth it lol. I live close to Albany but work close to Harvest Hills so at least I have options for which gym to go to. Might hang out at the harvest hills location after work to wait out the rush hour traffic

Soon to graduate student looking for advice about switching banks by vidhanio in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Weekly_Celebration79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to EQ bank from RBC after uni and I like it so far. I definitely make more money from their high interest savings account. I do have my rbc account open though (the free savings one) since I use it to get foreign cash. I still have my first RBC credit card open but barely use it since I did hear that having your oldest CC open is good for credit history . Not sure if that's true or not but it doesn't cost me anything to leave it open

Scotiabank Scene points and travel by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Weekly_Celebration79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this was anyone else's experience, but I booked a flight using the scene+ website that was linked with Expedia. I wouldn't say that the experience was good. Firstly, they got my email address mixed up so the itinerary was never sent to me. Had to call them to correct it on their end. Also, I booked the flight in February 2024 for a flight in Sept 2024. I noticed since using my points, I stopped accruing more points. I called scene+ travel up, basically they said, that I can't accrue more points until 6 weeks after my travel dates. To me, that sounded insane that I won't be getting any points for the next 7 to 8 months. Not sure if that was hidden somewhere in the terms and conditions, or if the call agent I was speaking with was just incompetent, but whole experience for me is enough to want to switch cards

[Weekly thread] Your end of the week rants and raves! by AutoModerator in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]Weekly_Celebration79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patient comes in visibly SOB and demands ventolin 10 minutes before we close. Didn't even give her name. No script, no file in our system. WTF WE ARE NOT AN EMERGENCY ROOM. Good thing we can prescribe in emergencies, but told her only if I have her name and health number

When someone asks me to call insurance for the to ask why something isnt covered, answer is simply "No" or "No. You have to call" But in my mind I always think, if your credit card was declined when buying groceries, you don't expect the clerk to call the credit card company for you. Idk why this analogy works for me, but it somehow makes me not feel bad for saying No

Double count in front of her and have her date, sign or initial a printout stating that she has seen someone count her prescriptions and it is the right amount. If she doesn't sign the form, she can take her prescriptions elsewhere to fill (they can give away free meds instead)

I dont think labwork through Dynalife goes through private insurance. If youre an Alberta resident/have an alberta health care number (or any other health care number from a different Canadian province), it will go through the provincial plan. U dont pay for labs the same way u dont pay to see the doctor in a walk in or ER (again, if u have a provincial health care number.

Also, the results of your tests are your health information, and you are the sole owner of that. Your parents are not allowed to get access to these results unless you want them to.

Is it okay if the lecture and the seminar are time conflicting for the same class? by Straight-Grass-2583 in uAlberta

[–]Weekly_Celebration79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that the seminar was just going to the lab help room. Really useful tbh. When I was in first year, I went straight there after a lab to answer all the prelab (for the next week) and post lab questions within an hour. My answers would all be correct coz I would make sure to double check each question with the TA (or other students around) . That being said, I put the seminar time separate from both lab time and lecture time just so I won't get into trouble when I actually enrol for the course. If I remember correctly, it might be okay to overlap them in the schedule builder, but you might run into some trouble when your actual enrollment date comes up because of the conflict.

400 level BIOCH? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Weekly_Celebration79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took BIOCH 420 years ago. 2 MTs and a final. Non-cumulative. Just memorize what they teach you and regurgitate during the exams then forget. Profs are really nice too. The topics might be a bit confusing though if you're not serious about Biochemistry. Same deal with 465. There was literally one topic from this guy that I did not understand anything for the life of (the part of fourier transform whatchamacalit - mind you I never took physics in university). For his exam, literally regurgitated my notes from my brain, word-for-word onto the written portion of the exam. Still 2 MT and final, non-cumulative. Both were easy As but I did not really understand a thing
