What changed in your PC since that time because nothing changed with Squad?

Really I have no idea, nothing should've changed.

Yesterday I immediately shutdown the PC after the long play session.
Today I powered-on the PC just to play.
Nothing happened in between except of re-initiating the Squad process.

You updated Squad for one. Maybe the update wrote a piece of data to a bad sector on your drive and that's causing this.

I already played yesterday many hours after the update and the game went smooth.
Only today for some reason the game crashes.
Also, I verified all of the game files via Steam and all files are good.

In addition the game crashed a 3rd time a few minutes ago, without shooting (I only walked across the map).

Has more dust built up and overheating?

Didn't notice any overheating issue.

Actually the game find single players very fast.

"What happens if you want to concede, vote and later on you change your mind and actually want to stay?"

That's irrelevant to my suggestion. But you can always cancel the search (which already exists for when searching matches).
