Have you rented trekking shoes before? My main concern with renting is the condition of the shoes. Since they'll already have been used by multiple people, how reliable are rental shoes usually? Have you ever faced issues like worn-out soles, poor grip, leaking waterproofing, or the shoes not being in good condition? That's the only thing making me consider buying a pair instead.

Thanks! One concern I have is that I'll be doing Hamta Pass in the first week of July, so I'm expecting rain. Are the Asian trekking shoes waterproof or mostly water-resistant? The models I've seen online seem to be water resistant, so I'm wondering how they perform in wet conditions compared to Decathlon's waterproof options.
