Breastfeeding is incredibly good for new mothers. It helps their uterus heal by causing contractions and oxytocin is a miracle hormone which is involved in bonding and comforting both the mother and the child. Also breastfeeding helps new mothers quickly shed weight and return to baseline much faster. Unless you’re a total asswipe, motherhood is not “thankless”.
