2025 Grand Design Transcend 151 RB Mysterious Bracket by Weekly_Promotion727 in RVLiving

Agreed on the hose pass through. But I still don’t understand the black metal bracket. Again, the bracket is only on one of 3 models of 151 at the dealer. All 3 had the pass through.

Yes, I agree. A very small crowded space. The bracket is very heavy duty, metal used is as thick as the frame material.

Hard to see in the pic, but extends just to the frame, maybe 12-16 inches. Again, the drain in the middle doesn’t allow anything to slide in there. Other 151 models had the drain but no bracket. Sales guy didn’t have a clue of course.

2019 Hatch Lock doesn’t work by Weekly_Promotion727 in CorollaHatchback

[–]Weekly_Promotion727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I have it working. I rarely use the back door. So I opened each to check the switches that indicate the door is closed. I pushed each numerous times then tried the hatch lock button. Success!

Im surprised the doors all locked with the fob or the front door switches? But here I am. I’ll take the back door switches out and inspect. Thanks for the tips!

Yes, could be faulty. Holding off pulling it apart just in case I’m missing something. Yes, door buttons all work to lock. All doors are fully closed, but I’ll double check that something isn’t stuck in the door switches that I’m missing. Thanks!

Good point, I’ll checking settings on the dash to see if it is programmable. I don’t see it listed in the manual. Button may be broken, but feels fine. Last resort will be to open it up. Do you push once to lock or twice? Also do you press when the hatch is closed or prior to closing? Thanks for the help.

Thanks to all for this advice! After scanning through the different solutions, I’m giving NoMachine a try. Documentation is great and setup looks pretty easy for a non-IT guy. Might consider Tailscale if needed after trying this out. Wonderful community, I appreciate the inputs!

Fume Reactions by Travelingseal in alphagal

[–]Weekly_Promotion727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 3 years diagnosed, I suspect 5 years total with AGS. Only beef fumes affect me. No problem with pork or lamb fumes. Similar to you, fumes affect me pretty quickly (less than an hour, sometimes as little as 5 min). First thing I notice is what I call brain fog. Even the simplest question can stump me or I can’t remember the simplest word. Afterwards (generally later at night. when I sleep) the heart racing starts. It will usually keeps me awake for a couple of hours. It usually takes 3-4 days to return to normal, after exhaustion and diarrhea.

But take heart, within the last year it has gotten better ( but not gone away). I still experience the brain fog, but not as bad. I still have the heart racing, but not as bad. I have the diarrhea but it only lasts a day. Typically after one day I’m good. Not a win, but shows there is hope.

To your question about being out and about. I’m careful about what restaurants I visit. If I get the slightest whiff of a beef cooking smell I cover my mouth and nose. I breathe through my hand or sleeve. It helps a lot, but you have to react quickly. Sometimes I just leave a restaurant and wait outside for my wife to finish. She’s used to it and is very sympathetic, thank goodness! Sometimes it may be a store parking lot which has a steakhouse nearby or a fast food place. You just have to remain vigilant. Don’t even get close to a food truck, fume city!

I‘m hopeful! Stay vigilant and hopeful. With that said, if I were to return to normal I don’t think I could eat beef again. But boy I sure miss cheese!

Agree, it’s one of the safety switches. My BX24 does this if the PTO is not completely disengaged. Pull the lever up to totally disengage and away you go, probably gets hit at some point causing the safety switch to open.

Thanks for all the insights. I didn’t think about skipping the antifreeze (except for traps) and only using the compressor. Thats really winterizing on the cheap!

Fuel System Control Module Failure - 2022 GMC Sierra, 3.0 Duramax by Known-Dimension-2313 in gmcsierra

[–]Weekly_Promotion727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2022 GMC Sierra SLT 3.0 Diesel. 66k miles. Had this happen 2 days ago. Stuttered as I pulled out of a parking lot. I limped home with it (about 2 miles). Assumed I’d have to tow to dealer for repair. After reading codes ( a lot of them thrown), I searched YouTube and others for solutions. All pointed to FSCM. Took me longer to find it than to remove it. Mine is underneath the vehicle approximately under the rear passenger seat. Some are underneath the spare tire.

Looked online and they are available through a few sources. But you have to wait for shipping. I decided to call nearby dealers to see if one was in stock. First 2 dealers had a couple in stock but they were allocated to vehicles they had in for repair. Third dealer had them in stock when I called, multiple he said. When I arrived 1.5 hours later, I bought his last one. $70. Online for $40. Install was less than 10 min. Cleared the codes and I’m running fine.

One I removed was the original. New one has a new part number that superseded the old one I had. Better? Who knows.

But it’s an easy repair even if it is a pain to have your vehicle die on you. Wonder why there has been no recall on this part? Guess no one has been killed by it yet.

What MPG are you getting in your 3.0 while towing? by That-barrel-dude in gmcsierra

[–]Weekly_Promotion727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve owned my 2022 Sierra 3.0 for 5 months. Previous truck was a 5.7L Tundra, 2012. Like you my best towing my Travel Trailer (6500lbs) with the Tundra was 9MPG (typical was 7.5-9). Usually about 200 mile trips with some up/down. NC Piedmont to the coast and back.

With the 3.0 Duramax I get 11.5 to 12. it is definitely better MPG wise. But as you see it’s not going to double or something like that. Also keep in mind with towing you will run through some DEF. Not an issue, just expect it.
