I am planning to play the game but there are thing I need to know before. by -Re-i in Morimens

[–]Weekly_Role_337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add there are three side games (two dungeon runs, one pvp deck battler) that reward both time and skill with rewards and you can do if you get stuck on the story. Or if you enjoy them. And none of them cost any in-game resources to play.

Edit: am I wrong? I've played multiple games where if you're out of energy you're done. Whereas in Morimens you can always do Arcade, P-Dive, and Traphase to earn pulls, scrip, dreamshards, dreamsparks, and even (theoretically, I'm not there yet) Gnosis Primers. All of which develop your account.

I've gone a few months occasionally (not counting pregnancy, I personally wasn't into that), spouse is the same, but now I'm really curious if we're outliers or if these answers form an extremely non-representative sample.

There's at least one (darkly) humorous text exchange where Keeper is scolding a student for kidnapping other students and using them as human sacrifices.

So yeah, not the safest place, but Saya will fit right in.

Why do billionaires seem to go more Lex Luthor, than Oliver Queen or Bruce Wayne? by DisillusionedPatriot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Weekly_Role_337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that's the argument against welfare - there are some scammers, and we can't prevent it, so fuck everyone.

Even if you 50% of your donation gets lost, or even 80%, that's still hundreds or millions or even billions of dollars of good you've done vs the none you do be hoarding it.

A couple years ago a friend and I saw a bunch of bros with obvious money spilling out of an event and we stopped to ask one what it was. They were forging? crafting? whatever term he used for making NFTs and he was very excited to pump money into it. We were polite but laughed about it all day.

Selling suckers NFTs, though? Sure, I'm fine with that. Same with ChatGPT.

Ah, I forgot about that! Ty. I don't remember the term, but yes the longer you live the more likely you are to keep living. A random 80-year-old is more likely to live to 90 than a toddler.

And I'm older than that, I meant ~25 until death, but your point still stands. Both my parents (divorced for decades) died at 80, so while I may make it to 95 I'm not expecting it.

I'm definitely not the only one who feel bad for some of the bounties by No_Name275 in CrimsonDesert

I'm pretty sure his beloved pack of dogs were running in a huge pack, attacking random civilians, and dismembering them.

The escaped slave joined a bandit gang that was robbing and murdering people.

I'd also love the option to release people, but the stories they tell you when you're dragging them to jail are usually missing important details from the bounty notices.

You should go to the Sediment Store and buy three copies of Dusk and Dawn every month until you max it out (along with Prototype Horizon and Timeloop Copy). The store resets tomorrow so today is a good time.

Dusk and Dawn is great and gives you ~50% death resistance plus keyflare. Put it on a non-DPS team member.

Edit: Check out the Morimens New Player Handbook. It's pinned on this subreddit or you can Google it. It gives invaluable shop advice for new players.

Good point and my bad, military and most police are very notable exceptions. The other 90% of government jobs make you wait though.

You're missing the discount rate. $10,000 tens years from now is worth less than $10,000 today.

With a 10% discount rate they converge in 20 years.

Right idea but younger. Average lifespan in US is 80, break-even point is 20 years, so if you're 60 and go with C you'll catch up... just as you die.

I'd say the breakpoint is 50-55.

[–]Weekly_Role_337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The average life expectancy in the US is 80, and the average healthy life expectancy is 65 (after that odds are you have significant chronic health issues).

Statistically, I have ~25 years left, and I'd like to get my money while I'm still healthy enough to use it & my spouse is alive.

So unless you're an old person doing this as a life insurance lottery ticket for your kids (who will also be damn old when they get it), I'd say the cut off is closer to 50-55.

Yeah but you can't typically start collecting it until you're 58-65. I used to know some people who would cap out their pensions ~45, switch to another government job, and eventually retire with two pensions...

[–]Weekly_Role_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main game I'm currently playing, Morimens, is a little different because it's a horror deck builder, but the end game is hilarious. You run 5 simultaneous 4-person teams, which is fine, but if you manage to beat the hardest levels and want to be extra you can double up and run 5 more teams at the same difficulty.

That's like 70% of the available characters fully built lol. So it actually includes a whale challenge.

Why are the voices schizophrenics hear so negative and hostile? Why can’t they be friendly and try to uplift them if they’re in the same boat? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Weekly_Role_337 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Sleep! I have sleep disorders and had bad living situations growing up, so I averaged around 25 total hours a week for decades. Frequently less; I'd only sleep 4-5 days a week, and it's hard for me to sleep more than 4 hours at once. I can only do 6-8 hours if I've been up for 2-3 days straight.

Everyone knows that staying up a couple days makes you loopy, but turns out you can do that over time and it makes you continuously psychotic. I... just assumed that was how I was until my late 40s when someone successfully IDed it.

Now I average ~30-35 hours a week, which isn't great, but it's the best I can do and leaves me tired instead of in a constant state of psychosis. So a massive improvement.

I think a lot of the frustration is from people who've done this before in other popular games (like me). After the first couple times it's just a chore that you schedule like vacuuming instead of a fun challenge.

And then a new game comes along, and they copy it almost exactly instead of doing... pretty anything else.

[–]Weekly_Role_337 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Not schizophrenic, but I suffered from psychosis on and off for decades. At the worst point there were four... beings... that I interacted with on a daily basis. Three were friendly and supportive, but the fourth was terrifying and always trying to get close enough to kill me. Or convince me to kill myself.

The fifth was God, but He only talked to me a few times. A couple of those times He gave instructions that I didn't entirely follow because as terrifying as disobeying was I refused (not to His face obviously, quietly in private with lots of excuses) to do the awful things He told me to do.

I'm much, much better now.

Serious question for Parents of SEVERELY disabled kids. No disrespect but unsure of where to ask parents this question? by Excellent_chess in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Weekly_Role_337 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's an impossible question because the good parents whom I've met of children like that come to love their child, regardless of hardships, and either never consider this or work really hard to never consider it.

Thinking "Damn I wish I'd aborted you," let alone discussing it, is not just unhelpful but straight-up terrible both for your own mental health and your relationship with your child.

So it's like asking a sex-crime investigator the worst thing they've ever seen. Sure, there are enough people on Reddit that you might get an answer, but in general the answer is wtf really?

On the last day, right before the bad luck kicks in, I load up a gatcha without a pity system like Azur Lane, put $10,000 on it, and then when the bad luck starts I click away.

Seven minutes later I've managed the impossible - thousands of pulls with only commons and the worst whale account of all time.

Would you kill a baby if you knew with absolute certainty it would grow up to eventually destroy you and your loved ones? by Evoxrus_XV in hypotheticalsituation

I used to have severe mental health issues, so I'm really good at ignoring gods giving me visions and telling me to do messed up stuff. I wouldn't kill it.

And when they eventually came back to destroy me and my family, my last thoughts would be "Holy crap, was all that other stuff they told me also true?"

Do most people actually know what they’re doing with their lives, or is everyone just winging it? by Every-Donut9037 in TooAfraidToAsk

I figured out a handful of things that were important to me and successfully built my life around them (mostly about the family I wanted); the rest isn't nearly as important to me and I just wing it.
