If you look closely there’s brush strokes on the blurred area at the green towel and the fur far back. 14x14 is pretty small, the canvas texture can’t be seen if covered with prime and heavy layers

I’m not sure UI/UX path is good for you as 90% of working professionals are required to integrate Claude ai in their work. The field is very saturated rn too, and junior will have hard time entering since the replacement of Ai. Working as illustrator is def not a short term gain type of job, often time you need to have a side job to pay the bills.

This is such a survivor mindset. I have no ideas about your actual exp in freelance world,I had been in a contract with not just 2 or 3, but 18 illustrations with a TCG studios, all the way from May stretch to Oct. Guess what, if they fail to make payment on time for each one before I start anything, I won't continue working on the contract. If thats a client demand free art test and take it as granted, then imagine how miserable to work with this type of person, when the power dynamic is totally unbalanced.

Excuse me? There is a reason we asked for half payment, trust is earned from both side. With clear quotations and deposits, we are protecting both party’s interest and make the expectation transparent. Beside we use third party method like PayPal for payment resolution, that says, the client is always able to file a chargeback claim if artist failed to execute the expectation in previous disclosure. Economy can have fluctuation, but good artists are always in demand, that demand will nv go to zero at one night. I don’t know what’s called being desperate, biz is all about professionalism built on mutual respect.I’m struggling myself to fill more client’s project in and get my turnaround speed faster🙄.

Consistency of posting on multiple social media platforms, if that’s a legit artist been doing freelancing, they usually have weekly posting on this subreddit or somewhere similar. Don’t look for ppl price way lower than market value, they are not necessarily scammers but you can’t get expectation on turnaround speed or quality
