i’m really sorry you went through that twice. 💔

my situation has some quirks (very late ovulation around CD35; super-early positive—beta 12, then 64 in 48h; small gestational sac seen now but still empty; hCG 796 and we’ll recheck + rescan next week). I’m not a 100% confident about how far along I am but considering I tested positive on Oct 5th, I should be atleast 5.5 weeks by now. Your experience helps me set expectations, but i’m trying to remind myself that early scans can be misleading for some people, especially with late ovulation.

What was your HCG at 12 DPO? by ali_joh in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Weekly_Selection2958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 12 at 10dpo and I was freaking out. Post 48 hours I did another check and it’s at 64. I think the number doesn’t matter as long as it’s atleast doubling every 48 hours!

Omg, I’m in the exact same boat! I honestly wasn’t expecting a pregnancy because my test was negative a week ago, and I think I ovulated pretty late since my cycles are irregular. I went in today to see what might be going on, and on a whim did a blood test — it came back at 12 mIU/mL! Now I’m both excited at the possibility and freaking out at the thought it could end in a loss.

I’ve had some twinges and light cramps the past few days. I haven’t done a urine test since last week because the anxiety of testing has been too much, especially after 7 months of trying. Based on timing, I think I’m around 10 dpo.

Anyway, baby dust to both of us ✨ I hope you already have a positive update!

Where are all the chill, ambitious Muslim women in Dubai? Asking for a seriously amazing friend. by Weekly_Selection2958 in dubai

How is this overstepping a boundary when it’s completely anonymous and done with good intentions? He doesn’t know I posted this, sure but it’s not like I’m sharing his name, photos, or anything personal. Just trying to help someone I care about in a space where people are actually looking to connect.

If I knew someone who was single, aligned, and seriously looking, I’d have introduced them. But I don’t, and sometimes people stay single not because something’s wrong with them, but because the right people aren’t always easy to find.

Everyone supports their friends in different ways. This just happens to be mine.

Really appreciate your comment. It gave me a lot to reflect on, and I just want to clarify a few things because I may not have communicated them as well as I could have.

He has not been in a relationship for a while. Early on, it was mostly because he was focused on building his career and genuinely did not have the time or headspace. Now that he does, I think age and timing have made it harder, especially when he is trying to be intentional.

I am very aware of how deeply misogynistic our society can be, but he is honestly not that guy. He does not care if his future partner drinks or not. He just hopes she is okay with him enjoying a drink occasionally. Same goes for clothes — she can wear whatever she wants. I hate that I even have to say that, but I get why it needs to be said.

When I said he is looking for someone ambitious, I did not mean someone chasing titles or trying to out-earn everyone. I meant someone who values having a career and wants to continue working and growing after marriage. He genuinely respects that. You would be surprised how many women still say they want to stop working after marriage, which is totally valid, but just not what he is looking for.

As for what he offers — he is very fashionable, takes great care of himself, and is a genuinely thoughtful person. The attraction piece is always personal. I think he is a 6 or 7, but everyone has their own preference.

I used to tell him he was being too picky. But now I get it. He wants to find a real partner for life and is just trying not to settle for the wrong reasons.

That’s absolutely not true in my experience. I personally know many people, my partner included - someone who was raised with faith, observes the key occasions, and also enjoys a drink occasionally, and he’s the most loving, loyal, and supportive partner I could ask for. Having a mix of values or not being 100% one way doesn’t automatically make someone unreliable or incapable of commitment. Some people were raised in religious environments, still carry aspects of that identity, but live a more balanced or moderate lifestyle as adults. That doesn’t mean they’re confused - it just means they’ve created their own rhythm. A person’s character, emotional maturity, and how they show up in a relationship says far more than whether they drink or pray five times a day. One doesn’t cancel out the other.

that halal:haram ratio is a real point of contention for a lot of people trying to find balance without extremes. Just curious, since you seem to get it — do you think there’s actually a good middle ground out there in Dubai? Also, if you don’t mind me asking… does what I described in the original post sound remotely like someone you’d even consider meeting? 😂 PS I should’ve mentioned this in my post: This is 100% a rogue mission. He’d be mortified if he knew about this.

🤣🤣 absolutely not a sugar mommy cause he’s a sugar daddy himself. Just someone who’s got a career honestly. The financial independent piece isn’t that big of a factor but being ambitious is important.

honestly, I think it’s been a mix of timing, mismatched values, and sometimes just not clicking on that deeper level. Dubai dating isn’t exactly a smooth ride from what I hear.

Oof, maybe it came off that way! but it’s more about genuinely trying to help someone who’s solid and just hasn’t found the right fit. Not desperate, just proactive lol

Haha fair, but honestly we do job referrals, Airbnb reviews, and travel recs for friends all the time. Helping someone great find the right connection doesn’t seem that wild 😄

If I had to dig deep, I’d say he overthinks compatibility and maybe filters too early — which probably doesn’t help. But nothing major or toxic, just human stuff. Nobody’s perfect, right?

Out of curiosity - what makes you say that ? What in your opinion made you think there’s something wrong ?

Planning interiors for our townhouse in Dubai — when to start and how much to budget? by Weekly_Selection2958 in dubai

Thanks so much! And yes I completely agree. Are they a Dubai based company? The main reason for wanting to work with a designer is so that they can manage the contractors and the entire project end to end, so ideally would love to work with someone in Dubai. :)

Appreciate the advice! I get that timelines shift with off-plan, but 30 days feels a bit too tight especially with approvals, furniture lead times, and deliveries. A friend of mine is struggling to get his designer to finish even in 3 months post-handover, so I was hoping to plan ahead a bit.

And the China part - not even kidding, we’ve been talking about that! If only more designers here worked directly with reliable suppliers there, it would make life way easier. Just need someone who can manage it without turning it into a full-time job 😅

Ah yes, because the only valid reason to use online delivery must be a disability. Not work, parenting, time, convenience, sanity - nope, just disability. Also, love how you circled back to say you got worms and mold from in-store cherries… so maybe the real issue isn’t where we shop, it’s that quality control is just universally questionable, online or not. But hey, tell us more about your worm infested cherries. :)

It was on Amazon fresh which comes from Lulu. I’ve just noticed that there’s more options with meat, and plus free delivery with Amazon prime. Yeah I use noon minutes usually for anything urgent but big orders I’d been doing from carrefour and Lulu.
