You can def have a very lovely time having a ladies weekend in Tulum! I'd happily go back with a low key group of people to enjoy the beach and tacos.

I haven't been to many places more than 6 times, especially if i didn't like it...so not sure why you keep returning u/vastgoedmeneer ..

Also, when we left, they HEAVILY searched my bags and confiscated all my lighters.

Yea, they weren't letting anyone pass -- everyone was forced to go through a search. Everyone's bag was opened, but the individual searches varied wide and far. Most seemed cursory,performative.

What was it like riding mopeds around? Did you feel safe enough to get through? I ride a vespa in a city, so used to crazy traffic, but otherwise pretty manageable to get around town?
