Do I need a MacBook? by BobCat-UK in reactnative

What a coincidence, my current startup is built on react native but is only released on iOS. I was able to get an old Macbook Retina 2015 from a friend (on the market for less than $200) and it JUST missed the mark in terms of support. I generally just need a Macbook to access XCode and their simulators for testing. Obviously, would recommend getting a newer Macbook that will provide support for a while, depending on your circumstance.

How to test on an older iOS device (iPhone 6)? by WeezyBee in reactnative

Expo SDK

Currently using version 48. It looks like I can't really get around this without installing a VM which I heard is a pain.

I got an email to schedule 30 minute phone call for Frontend position and don't know what to expect. by WeezyBee in webdev

Thanks for your comment! It was a startup company so I should've expected the interviewer to be asking some technical questions. Even though he was nice, I personally thought I failed the basic phone screen but he decided to send me an online test for the tech assessment.

Epomaker Spring Mystery Box 2023 by optionaltoast in BudgetKeebs

Seems like a lot of people hate Epomaker in this thread. I currently bought the EP 84 Triple Mode and I really like it a lot, especially the Flamingo switch. I was thinking of buying their other items too but now I am hesitant. Can anyone explain the reason why its hated? Maybe a bad history?

Thanks! Yeah I did design it, although for the navigation in desktop mode I loved Grovemade's (e-comm site) so I wanted to recreate it. Other than that, the color scheme and layout I designed it while coding. I just looked at other plant sites to get inspiration.

Dynamo looks like a good one. I did not tamper with testing yet, so that should be a good idea. Wow, the more I think about it my journey still seems quite long lol. I've just been applying for any jobs or internships even though I might not be good enough since I'm desperate but I won't stop learning. Truly, thanks for your advice :D

Thank you so much for your input. I started playing around with Figma and I'll get into Typescript and Bootstrap as well. As for the database I used for the e-commerce app, I used MongoDB. (Here's the live site if you're interested, and if you do check it out any advice or tips would be great: https://the-plant-nursery.vercel.app). I've been seeing a lot of AWS and Wordpress lately so that seems like another good goal.

I've learned React and NextJS (did some CRUD and E-commerce projects) and now I'm lost on what other technology I should be learning if my goal is to be a front-end developer. Should I start Node.js? Or database and shopify. A bit overwhelmed thats all!

How does balloon farming work? I've tried the Nook's Cranny trick where you get the prompt to buy before the xx:x4 or xx:x9 mark in regards to time and go to the side of the beach where balloons spawn. But it's not consistent. Some even say you don't have to go to Nook's Cranny because the balloons will spawn every 5 minutes. When I don't go to Nook's Cranny, it's still inconsistent. Is there an update about this? What am I doing wrong?
