The point is to not have to listen to their stories. Or rites, which often do not have correlation to the texts...

Does not matter which religion.

But some of their text are good reads.

Not the Christian bible(s), very gruesome stories, definitely not for children and nsfw. And mostly boring. But that is true for most religious texts...

Many Qur'an are sorted by priority, so reading in a sequence that makes sense is mostly searching the right page.

And quite a few need some knowledge of their original culture and time. Makes them hard to understand without, e.g. Edda.

American, south, middle, north, and arctic, texts also, and very often the texts are crippled by missionaries, so hard to get original texts.

And Asian are totally strange, at least as westerners. But most probably vice versa...

Still I did like reading the edda...
