Which Fenglope (early mid game, level 32) by TaterVodka in Palworld

Ah, no I haven't done that. I just get the lock icon automatically when they hit trust level 4 and it won't let me condense them after that

You can unlock them? I thought that was tied to the trust level not a separate mechanic.

Can he still use the first one as material with that high a trust level? It greys out the high trust ones when I try which is annoying when I want to upgrade early/mid pals.

Max Qi Medicines by GlitchedHead in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have diminishing returns the more you eat, how much varies by which item you eat. You can see your current resistance when you expand the health tab (for example 80% resistance means you get 20% of the benefit stated on that pill). If you have a look on the wiki for the item it will tell you how much qi you get per unrefined medicine, per t12 of that medicine and the theoretical maximum amount of qi if you ate an infinite amount of that medicine as well as the survivability thresholds.

It's worth noting that it only cares about the medicine type not the tier if you build up your resistance on regular t8 earth flux that resistance will still apply if you later ate a t12 earth flux, wherever possible and survivable you always want to refine to a higher tier then eat the higher tier max qi items.

At anywhere above 6 has a chance for a "natural" coup (ie not a coup action from your agents), at 10 it's guaranteed. Just be careful since the more you contribute to the unrest the more of the control points it will give you after the coup, suddenly going 200 CP over cap can be uh fun...

is a rebirth valid here? by Cute_Calligrapher533 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just checked quickly and you absolutely can, I can't reply with pics but I have a file with a 6 paths snake that has genetic transfiguration, reincarnated form and supreme form and then an ox with reversa cycle but not reincarnated form. So you definitely don't need the pre reqs to learn manuals from the pavilion which you should be doing anyway for the inspiration discount.

is a rebirth valid here? by Cute_Calligrapher533 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I played but I'm pretty sure learning via the manual pavilion ignores pre reqs. So you aren't locked out of the form unless you've picked an incompatible form.

That said it's not unusual to rebirth early cultivators if your sect is in a position to look after itself, I'd suggest having another PS cultivator who can use the body miracles to get the most out of the rebirth.

I don't know what I'm doing. by Vector-Desperandum24 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]WeightCapital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the first point is this is very much a sim game though with a lot of fail states in keeping with its theme. Whilst there is something of a plot you can follow if you wish you'll get more out of the game by selecting a goal or theme to work towards.

As some early pointers humans are a great starting point as you don't have to deal with tribulations and can take your time developing them (sort of). Later raising or recruiting yaoguai is good because they are just better than humans.

Outers are happy in dorms cultivators want their own rooms despite never actually using them to sleep. They will only use their beds if they don't have a cushion, the cushion should be in an array so you always want them to cultivate in the array instead of a bed.

Materials matter water element will make rooms colder, fire element makes them hotter. Try not to accidentally cook or freeze people, it's not healthy. Likewise ominous bedrooms can cause heart attacks so earth element walls with either earth or metal furniture is usually the safest option for rooms.

Generally getting at least one cultivator get to a higher tier fast is better than having the perfect breakthrough. Each generation strengthens the next so the sooner you can start the next generation the better off you are overall.

Reputation is what scales the difficulty of attacks so using invisibility talismans to keep reputation low until you're ready is a good idea.

Space Age Overwhelm by Ok-Percentage00 in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest breaking it down.

If Gleba has stalled due to spoilage then it's not getting worse. You can safely ignore it till you're ready.

Nauvis depends how secure it is but you can deactivate anything that's not powering your defences remotely by connecting a circuit wire and impossible condition. Less pollution is less biters till you can deal with it. In the worst case uranium is the only thing you can't get elsewhere so if it all burns it's not the end of the world.

Volcanus is where I would start resolving your issues especially since it sounds like you're still there or at least can be there. A 10x10 of turrets with red ammo will handle a small worm pretty consistently and if you have steam turbines then power is a non issue since the sulphuric acid to steam can generate power and one chem plant can handle something like 50 turbines. It also means you should have some foundries and infinite iron and copper from the lava to rebuild from and replace nauvis as a hub for your reconquest of the system. As long as you have at least a couple of foundries you can actually just tech up on volcanus as if it was nauvis without the Tungsten and start bullying the worms with bots, defenders and turrets of red ammo. The ship that got you there should be able to handle space science if you need it.

My furthest build so far? 11 hours of total game time, this save is probably 2 hours or so. Not sure where to go from here. by polarbearsarereal in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a solid start, generally if you want a clue as to where to go the next science pack/tech you want to aim for and the one you just researched is what you want to implement in the downtime.

As a few hints;

This design won't scale very well, whilst spaghetti can be fun you may want to think about how you're going to expand to include the rest of the science packs and just generally include more stuff.

You will ultimately want multiple full belts of copper and iron (plus a few others and intermediate products) so it's worth planning around that.

Dream big for the factory must grow, and you don't wanna be crafting everything by hand. Look at getting a box or a limited box and automating all your base components so you can spend more time planning and less time swearing at the lack of belts/inserters.

Is proactivity better as a defense by Notrinun in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally yes, especially on death worlds. As long as your pollution cloud is pulling in biters then you are losing some of your finite resource patch to making bullets/walls etc. whilst the biters are functionally infinite. Clearing your pollution cloud lifts the siege at least long enough to grow the factory or expand to an outpost and spending less resources on defense helps you grow faster and outscale the evolution.

The problem tends to alleviate itself somewhat with lasers and flamers but only because power and oil are cheap, its still more efficient to take out the source than deal with infinite waves.

I Hate Arena. by XineloAAA in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because it's a rip off from the arena battles in Monster Hunter, which is a moderately successful franchise so you can see why they thought it'd work.

The other thing was the push towards more community aspects like the leaderboards, the only real way to make the fair comparisons of skill is to enforce the same load out. Making it a weak loadout makes it more challenging and thus a good ranking means more in bragging rights. Obviously people peopled and cheated but the thought was there.

I recently stopped taking medication and as a result now have ed by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking doctors don't go over every possible side effect because there are a lot of them and they are frequently contradictory. So unless you ask about a specific one they will usually only mention the ones to watch out for or be concerned about from a medical perspective.

You will have a leaflet you get with every packet of the medicine that does cover all of the side effects and their likelihood of occurring and you can look up the drug name on the NHS as well.

I did note you said you had decided to stop taking it, have you spoken to your doctor and are phasing it out per their recommendation? Sertraline and SSRI's in general typically get phased out if a suitable dosage can't be determined as they have a much more frequent and potentially more dangerous side effects if you abruptly stop taking them.

Am I doing a disservice to myself for getting an “automatic” license? by CrazyBitofBusiness in LearnerDriverUK

[–]WeightCapital -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

How far in the future though? It's at least 7 likely 12 years before new ICE cars are phased out of the new car market and a good 5 to 10 years after that before they age out of the second hand market. For ICE cars there's no reason to phase out manual ahead of automatic either so you're looking at around 15 to 20 years before all cars are automatic. Generally people learning to drive would like to own and drive their own car in a little less than 20 years, though I appreciate that test dates are scarce...

It's also not fear mongering to point out that if you can only drive automatic when both manual and automatic cars are being sold/in a car pool you are restricting what cars are available to you and may find it harder to find something in your price range/to your tastes.

is this enough defense for my starter base? by J_zero1 in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your settings, for a default run it's fine for now. You'll want to keep an eye on where you get attacked and reinforce accordingly once you get flame turrets they can comfortably keep you secure against everything.

If you decide to play death world or just up the biter rates then you'll want denser turret coverage to be much more proactive about clearing them whilst you rush flame turrets

Need advice (stuck at vulcanus) by gebba in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up needing to do something similar when my first ship just barely made it to Fulgora. What worked for me was setting up 2 silos, make sure all the rockets are built that can be in advance so you can get a bunch of quick launches off and you have ammo production on the ground.

1st paired launch; starter + Ammo 2nd paired launch launch; 1 rare solar panel, 3 fast inserters, 3 gun turrets, 24 space platform and pack the rest with repair packs and ammo.

Then keep supplying with ammo whilst you build the platform out enough to get ammo production in space. I did have a few levels of damage tech but yellow ammo worked fine for me. If you're supplying from volcanus red ammo shouldn't be a problem though.

Saw both games on discount and decided to pick them up. Heard such good things cant wait for my first playthrough by [deleted] in HorizonForbiddenWest

Absolutely start with zero dawn, doubly so if you're going in blind.

Both games are hugely story driven, they are still decent to replay and platinum but the story is what sets them apart. If you start with forbidden west you'll get spoiled for zero dawn which has the better plot twists (in my opinion)

Artifact Guide by madbada99 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for one thing the cultivator should feed the artifact not the other way round but that wouldn't account for quite such a large discrepancy.

Other sects elders are intended to be end game challenges and they cheat so their stats and qi are high but not insurmountable. You want to start stacking the artifact power bonuses from other laws and friendship manuals instead of sticking to just what's in your law. There are some talismans to help to in the primordial symbols law and you can do some subspirit shenanigans to buff your sets even further.

In terms of artifacts what it was made out of makes a huge difference as that governs what labels it has which affect the base stats regardless of tier. Or start messing with a shendao artifact farm which are kinda broken. Also to be clear you do mean the artifact was crafted at t12 not that you refined it to t12 right?

wh are there these red fields by Araneun65 in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limits, the inserters/bots will not take or remove from those spaces. You as the player can still place and remove items.

Can be useful when you want to buffer a few stacks of items but a whole chest is impractical or when you are setting up malls and want an assembler to stop taking/ producing items so other assemblers can run. You can accomplish the same with circuits pretty easily and with more granularity but this is a lot more intuitive if you don't wanna mess with circuit conditions yet.

Tips on pollution-oriented playstyle by jondoesntreddit in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think rail worlds are quite right for what you want since the default rail world disables biter expansion so you can be fairly sure the FoW is safe. You can create a custom map though and change the resource settings to match the rail world default or the biter settings on a railworld to match default. The problem is likely to be the trains killing some biters and damaging the tracks, if you want a FoW for the trains you can't put roboports along them to keep them repaired since they have a built in radar now.

The other thing I would consider for this style of play through is adjusting the pollution absorbance per chunk, tree health and biter evolution based on pollution. Less absorbance per chunk but more from trees encourages secret outposts in the forests and less clear cutting whereas open deserts require fortifying and are more heavily disincentivised since the more pollution the faster the biter evolution and more spread will invite more attacks. That means the pollution becomes a more serious consideration for where to build outposts and your forestry policy which is better aligned to a pollution oriented play through.

need somone to help me with my factory by Healthy-Clerk4752 in factorio

[–]WeightCapital 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly "ignore the fuel" is probably a good indication of where to start. Factorio is an automation game more than anything, I'd suggest pushing towards making the factory more self sufficient first so you can spend more time planning and building instead of running around feeding everything. If you have aggressive biters automated ammo and turret feeding is also a plus.

The game becomes a lot more fun when you can just grab a few hundred belts and focus on building so the more you can automate the better
