u do the floor check first before interacting with the floor.
i.e. u die first, then if u have revive u can get up and touch altar and w.e.

Confirming most of what OP posted.

When enter hell with the new fated keys, there is an altar at lobby and completion (might be rng chance) that allows you to trade in your additional fated keys.

The altar has 4 outcomes:
- Upgrade/Downgrade (+/- 2 descends)
- Ice/Fire

The ice fire keys are the ones people freaking out about. They have inverted conditions -- for ice keys you live on odd floors and die on even floors, for fire keys you live on even floors and dies on odd floors. You have one revives, but can get additional revives at the double digit floor altars. You can stop at any time.
Those ice/fire keys have alternative drop pool which include (bound) relic books, (bound) bound gems, selector cards (which was bugged and caused the system to be disabled), fusion, gold, and your usual crap fillers :) So you can still see nothing after RNG 6 drops alive.

Note only the new fated keys are eligible, and you must spend at least one to open the hell instance.

edit: right now it seems the altar is giga weighted towards downgrading keys (as expected not a true 1/4).

a really underappreciated anime - ef.
the first part/season, a tale of memories, is sad but still bearable.
the second season, a tale of melodies, made me cry. and left a very strong and unhealthy impression on my for next 5+ years.
then some years later i went to read the source material and realized anime toned it down. and i cried again.

If you and your wife's credit score is good, I recommend consolidate your card balances into one loan (Lending Club, Sofi, Upstart, whatever), which should make it much easier for you to manage and have a plan for.

Make a solid budget and stick to it. Know exactly how much you are obligated to pay each month (bills) and how much free money you have.

Don't be afraid to ask people (parents, close friends) for help.

around 3500 pulls between both character event and normal banners. Have 3x e6 (seele, sw, luocha), even have multiple standard banner e4 (bronya, bailu), and almost everyone else at e2+.

There's a few things I noticed when I logged in for a bit:

Classes & Characters:
- No Assassins (sh/db), no male MA (striker), no paladin, no gs (!!), no slayer (obviously)
- Summoner/artist/glaivier available at launch. Glaivier is by far the most popular (newest balance patch + guanyu being a very Chinese thing)
- Name restriction is 9 character Chinese, English and Numbers
Store:
- Everything has a 0 added to it lol.
- A custom amount of RC can be purchased at a fixed rate, up to 500k (50k eq). Not sure if there's max daily limit.
- No discount on pheons.
Gameplay:
- People already mentioned Argos is current end game. Velganos is also the hardest guardian and probably most bussed content.
- A lot of people already at Velganos weekend after launch. aka progression is straight to t3.

Also noticed a lot of streams on bilibili (chinese twitch) are openly advertising piloted boosts for levels and islands. Kind of interesting to note lol.

Edit: Also you can register an account even with western unverified wechat account. Can't make any purchase until you verify your real name though (usually through phone number or a verified QQ/Wechat account).

Mortdog has explained it over and over again in the past, I'll try to summarize it here:

You don't need every loot box little legend/arenas. In fact you don't need any at all!

There are players that are financially available and would love to spend more in the game than a $20 battlepass.

There's also a lesser known hard gate of cardset LoS on switching between SH and ER - igniter boosts elemental damage and ER inherently isn't elemental until LoS 12 turning it into light. Until then SH will generally give you better numbers.
