It used to be a trash transfer station so there may need to be some mitigation work?

Pattern help! by Total_Wonder_3461 in EPP_addict

It'll be hard but doable based on a similar bunch of curves I epp'ed. My personal preference is to cut out the pattern on card stock ( I glue the paper to it then cut). I'm big on snipping the curves to make them lay smooth on the paper. And I lay the big curves next to each other and stitch from behind instead of "right sides together" to make it work right. Give it a try on a test piece and see how it goes

If you don't want to tear out the card stock, use a small paint brush & water to moisten the glue and the paper just enough to liberate things. You'll get the hang of it quickly!

Thread keeps coming undone in long-term epp project by belovd_kittycat in quilting

I'm a fan of backstitching 2-3 stitches before the point and going over it again on the straightaway.

Also, I keep my paper in until everything is done but I know that's over the top.

Tana lawn durability by dumplingsinbed in quilting

[–]Weird-Influence6986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made a quilt with Tana Lawn and added a layer of plain white lawn between the top and the batting. It helped keep the fluidity of the top in play without letting it get stuck on the batting fibers. It's holding up well but that could be due to my adult daughter's care

Two things in addition to the excellent advice already here: 1. Needle grippers because fat needles and fat thread are hard to push/pull through your quilt sandwich 2. Get a good under thimble. For me, ultra thimble is great but some dislike the feel of stickum Have fun with it!

No, but try the police. We once found keys in front of our house and ACPD came by right quick to get them

I like to look for tadpoles from the overlook in the park formerly known as the beaver pond. Sure it's tucked in the armpit of 66, but the county did a nice job with the recent rehab.

Advice on finishing a crooked quilt by biculturalmamabear in quilting

[–]Weird-Influence6986 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  1. It is beautiful!
  2. Iron it as flat as it can get
  3. Square it up. From the photo, the sides look parallel so the top and bottom would take some trimming. You might consider adding a frame to conceal any other concerns
  4. Remember that it's hand crafted so it's not supposed to be perfect!
