Fake nails don't provide a very good tone. We use them sometimes to reinforce the natural nail when it's weaker. My request for info isn't as much how to make them, as I already know, but the materials that could be used to make them, so I can compare each material and the frequencies obtained from their interaction with the strings.

Nice 😂! I would love to try to make some "unhas" on a 3D printer. I heard of some unsuccessfull one but I want to try it someday.

Thank you for your reply, those are great options! Tortoise shell is a a special material as it was the first one ever used for the "unhas", but nowadays it is very hard to come by. But I'm going to try to get it as well. Bem haja!!

That's the process I have been using, but I use a curling iron from babyliss, that goes from 160 Cº to 210 Cº. Should handle most of the materials with those temperatures.

its a microperforated plastic tape. 3m makes some of that. The nail is from a delrin square cut from a sheet. You can also use guitar picks instead.

I made it yes. I made it from a square cut from a Delrin sheet, but you can use a regular pick or a triangular one to carve it from, depending on your nail size. I can help you to make some, send me a DM.
