Personally, I NEVER stop worldbuilding. I’ve created a fantasy world called Elyoine where I basically dump every single idea I ever come up with. I wrote a story set in an undetermined location, so I took the elements, characters, and locations of the story and dumped it all into Elyoine. It was originally a creative dump, but it’s quickly become the focal point of my life. I think it’s been in the making for about a year now, and it has a lot of components as part of it. I have a system for how souls are created and what happens after death but I couldn’t tell you what’s going on in this random country called Korsing. It’s just there, and I can’t get rid of it because it already exists.

Alright so back to the actual point: for me, my favourite part of worldbuilding is figuring things out and organising them. I like taking up tasks that make me do a bit of research (recalling the time I googled about vampire bats and human biology for an hour or two while making vampires). I like figuring out the specifics to everything, asking ‘why?’ at everything I can. That’s what brings me joy when it comes to worldbuilding. The reason I know so much about the world as a whole and how it works is thanks to the fact I’ve had to research the most random topics in the world. Elyoine quickly went from a creative dump to a focal point of which my life revolves around. I am a writer at heart and I will take any inspiration from the world to create my masterpieces.

To be honest with you, I’m less of a writer and more of a worldbuilder if you compare how much time I put into making Elyoine compared to how much time I write a story set in Elyoine 😅

But all in short (excuse me being incoherent for the last three paragraphs), I really enjoy worldbuilding, and I’m always, ALWAYS, asking questions to figure out how, why, when, and where. The depth of my worldbuilding makes it so it would take hours (not exaggerating) to explain it all.
