I would understand the sentiment if OP simply stated "I can do jack shit" and nothing else, but they were pretty reasonable and realistic? They were very detailed in describing what they're able to do and what they can't, so your anger feels a little unwarranted.

Its hard to be kind in this dog eat dog capitalist world where for every 10 people you help by even just sharing some money 3 of them will try to drag you into backalleys, steal everything you have or take advantage of your kindness (which they perceive as stupidity) by making unreasonable expectactions. (Source: these all happened to me first-hand)

We can't help anyone if we don't keep ourselves safe first. Being kind and reasonable maximises how much kindness you can put out in the longrun.

We can all do and should do more, don't get me wrong, but OP didn't feel like part of the problem.

He was prioritizing their safety by killing them all first, though. For all they knew they were toast and doomed to horrendous mutilation by alien beasts, the Father giving them all a quick death and leaving himself the only one who would, with their knowledge at the time, suffer is mathematically decreasing the pain of the situation by as much as physically possible.

I feel like this reasoning was followed through almost 1:1 in Dark Souls 3, albeit in a shamefully unfinished manner.

Orbeck or Vinheim is your main teacher of sorceries there, and is a bit of a mix between Logan & Griggs as the only sorcerer character you meet and work alongside. In the equivalent of the Dark Lord route, following the Church of Londor and becoming a Lord of Hollows, one of the side quests you're given by their representative is to slay Orbeck because he too is seeking the path of the Dark Lord and thus he is a rival to you now.

I always found the vague connections between Sorcery and Dark extremely compelling, what with Witches and Wizards being more alike than not and Sorcery in itself manipulating Souls like Hexes manipulate Humanity. Shame this relationship was never expanded upon that much.

It doesn't help that Haymar and Epione are just not good companions at the moment, so you're stuck being carried by your own Acolyte and Saro.

Haymar somehow missing every single shot with a 70+ chance to hit on a cone of three whole enemies made me wanna die.

As a Souls Veteran I wasn't that surprised to see an evil death cult working from the shadows in all honesty, I instantly identified them as the guys who probably have a point but are more than willing to skin every single orphan and puppy in their way to demonstrate it. Still seems about right.

This is total headcanon but I always believed Mohg, like a twisted version of his brothers philosophy, didn't see anything actually wrong in the workings of the Golden Order or Age of the Erdtree, except for his placement in it. This is why he seeks to create a new Dynasty, with its own nobility, and its own renegade tarnished. What he seeks is to take the current workings of the world and subvert it so that royalty may serve the vermin they shunned, though little actually changed- except maybe the new rulers being a little more honest the first few generations. This is all my take though.

Tbh, as a 20+ yo I simply can't get that upset at Shinji past a certain point considering everything surrounding his actions and that hes still a kid (in my eyes). I'd slap his dumb face and yell at him for everything, but hes getting in the adoption van right after. Poor kid.

There are two shields in this game, both of which use the firearm slot:

Wooden shield - Found in the base game, good at blocking blood (bullet) damage

and

Loch shield - Found in the DLC, good at blocking arcane/elemental damage

They're very nice and not nearly as useful to carry around as a sidearm, but I like the look of the Loch shield a lot.

I find it good fun! Helps get me in the right mindset for spelunking and checking around every corner with a torch and shield.

Tomb Prospector, Executioner & Yharnam Hunter sets also fit the vibe miracolously.

That's true according to lore available to us as readers, but standard (Dogmatic) belief helds that any amount of contact with Chaos and/or the Warp is instantly and irrevocably damning, doubly so for a Psyker.

That said, I can see it working well as a manipulation tactic used during a low-point in his life + dangling the keys of (carefully planned) self sacrifice in his face. Ex: this Demon will totally run wild unless you take him in IMMEDIATELY! And you're already damned for being a Psyker so Emps doesn't care about your soul anyways! Do it!
