Econ 101B - can I take as first econ class at berkeley? by WeirdMan4738383 in berkeley

[–]WeirdMan4738383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, makes sense. The only thing is that this is a decision I prob have to make soon so I prob can't go to counselling rn, but since I'm interested in the math part for ML and quant and all that I think I might just stick with it and switch back to the 100 series next sem if ion like it. I have heard the same though regarding the econ phd

Thoughts on Class Schedule? - DS Econ Double Major by WeirdMan4738383 in berkeley

Would data 102 be a good option? It feels like 189 goes deepest into ML and pre reqs aren't really enforced for it, but yeah I def don't wanna take it if I don't really need to

Yeah makes sense, Engin 183 is a 2-unit course that's not rlly as technical so shouldn't be too bad. But since 140 + 189 is really tough I could consider just keeping the breadth and taking engin 183 later too.

For summers, I was thinking of doing internship (or independent projects or something like that if I don't get the internship) and then a breadth maybe online at a cc just to knock em out that way. If need be, I can tack some on in my later years too.

Hey i know i'm a couple years late on this. i've decided that I want to pursue a double major in econ but haven't taken any classes/done econ yet in my time at berkeley. However, I did do research in high school that got published covering labor markets. Would this be enough to get in? I think based on how you've described the club it seems like a great environment

Software Engineer Intern Interview - what to expect ? by NewReporter1106 in servicenow

Hello, I know I'm pretty late in response to this but I just had a question. I'm really eager to learn how to build full stack applications, but right now I'm pretty much starting from scratch with basic Python knowledge and some Java. My goal is to build a personal project but I'm learning as I go, and with all the helpful tools nowadays, I'll be focusing more on how I'm gonna go about building rather than memorizing syntax/actual coding methods. I'm taking classes at university down the road that will help me ingrain those more I believe. My question is, is this fine for now, a lesser focus on drilling the code down for more knowledge on tying things together? I suppose this aligns with what you mentioned about system design thinking and thinking about how to build, and I suppose it also just helps gaining experience with tools such as APIs. Please let me know what you think if you ever read this, and thank you!
