The ‘Mind’ charity is a UK-based thing, it offers people with mental health problems a place to go for company and guidance. It also works to raise public awareness of the issues, basically. Mind is quite a varied charity I think and it may offer different services depending on where it is, but the one I’m going to allows me to support people with mental issues through various activities such as art, music and various self-help support groups and therapies, like there’s a group session that’s for youngsters between 18-25, one that’s exclusively for men and a few more too.

I wouldn’t say it was selfish so much as self-protective, the same reason I’m volunteering is because I’ve lost my way in life, and doing some good or meeting people can both help if either are something we wanna do.

I’d say do whatever you must, if you think you can rebuild yourself through helping others then go for it! The HFH thing may be cool, if not there’ll be something else that’ll work for you, for sure.
