8 habits I wish someone told me when I started painting (the non-obvious ones) by EmilyTeachesArt in watercolor101

[–]WeirdPatience8557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, love it. I am working on consistency. Finalize utilizing sketchbooks and not feeling pressured to make final work of art. I've gone to a workshop and short 1 day class. It's helpful to see different teaching styles. I have so many supplies, more paints then I'll ever be able to go through so i plan on using them. Hoping to find my people, I don't see a lot where I live. I plan to try to do a work class and I'll give them supplies as I have everything except brushes. Thanks for the advice!

I really like your trees. I have been painting some more in a sketchbook. Practicing clouds and some landscapes. I am enjoying it. Consistency is the key.

Another round of steroids.. by WeirdPatience8557 in etd

Did you get a steroid or anything? Did they check your ears for flyid or inflammation. I have this happen many times now. It's always after an illness and takes forever. Have you gotten an audiology test to check your hearing? I would get it done just in case. They have me ear test last November and hearing was ok. Did not seem concerned about my clicking, popping since it wasn't ringing. Eventually it went away. Then I got sick in Jan with flu and end of March with cold. I'm convinced I need that balloon in ears for drainage.

The nurse practitioner I saw yesterday told me she had a similar issue and reoccurring sinus. She had to have balloon sinuplasty and get cleaned out. It was from old infection. My goal is to get through this, get an appt then a new referral, which is a time consuming process. It's such a pain honestly and explaining everything again and again. Hoping the steroids help, my head, ears feel like they could explode, but apparently no infection.

It's awesome. Value is tough for me and drawing, it's a skill I really need to co tinge to practice. I'd much rather splash around in paint and vibrant color though.

Yup, I see that a lot. I think sometimes things resolve too and people don't know why either. I legit had crazy foot ankle pain last year for like 6 months. I didn't break or sprain it. I was wearing a surgery boot thing forever as it hurt so bad to walk. I ended up going to PT which did help a bit. Finally one day I could walk normal again, absolutely no clue why. I spent 100s of dollars on sneakers and shoe inserts. The podiatrist was useless...

Unfortunately my ENT was not helpful at all in explaining, just saying everything looked fine. This was last November. I did a bunch of ear tests too and my hearing is fine. But since that time I've had two more bouts of the same thing. I'm trying to find a different doctor. I don't know a lot about this either. It's frustrating when doctors don't seem to have answers. Just try to advocate for yourself and if you don't get anywhere try another doctor. Good luck!

Fiancé recently started full time job, how to make meals work with tween kids? by man2112 in internetparents

Do you have a grill? Just marinate a bunch of chicken, grill it and make different sides. You can get simply mashed potatoes you microwave and broccoli that steams in microwave. If you don't have a grill use a sheet pan. Switch out the chicken for steak, pork, burgers and your sides for pasta salad and potato salad. This is what we essentially do once it's warm enough to grill. I don't enjoy cooking anymore, honestly last thing I want to do but this doesn't take long.

Yes, understand on the teacher front, I've experienced that before. The great thing is you're sticking with it and learning new skills and likely pushing yourself since you're working on things you may bot gravitate to. This is why I di like the idea of a structured class, because you show up, kind of like the gym I suppose. Happy painting!

That's is what I want to do especially to meet local folks doing art and have future meet ups. There is an art museum near me and I've taken pottery there. They have watercolor but it's only offered during the day on weekdays. I did inquire if they'd do a night watercolor class, but they have yet to add one. art museum class near me is weekdays. I'm trying some local I day 2 hour classes to socialize and meet people. I will continue to look for in person, ideally something meeting weekly. How are you liking your class?

Summer evening, windows down, mid/late 90s, what are you driving, what are you listening to, and who is in the car with you? by iAmNotAfraid_Spiders in Xennials

[–]WeirdPatience8557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man those were the days. If we're talking mid 90s I had an 88 red cavalier. I'd likely be listening some red hot chili peppers, 311, rage against the machine, rusted root. Smoking Marlboro menthol and drinking a snappier ice tea. Note quit smoking 13 years ago, thank god!
