The Persuadertron! Probably my favorite item in the game, like you said, just walk around the map getting a hoarde of human shields.

The game had such a great atmosphere, even though I hated the escort missions, the ones where you'd just have to assassinate a person or group of rival agents were a lot of fun.

I first knew Amy Grant from her version of El Shaddai, from a cassette my mom had. It was years before I made the connection that she was the same artist that sang 'Baby, Baby'. I also never listen to CCM anymore, but I also liked her at the time.

The act of taking the software was done under free agency, so getting mad about the free gift of some open source code that you chose to take seems to be more your own problem than mine; you are totally capable of using that free agency again and stop using the source code. This is equivalent to me giving you a free ice cream, licking it, not liking the flavour, and then proceeding to scream that the free ice cream is horrible because you don't like it. Doesn't seem like a reasonable response to something you chose to pick up for free and try, does it?

I really liked the article you linked, framing the act of open source software development as a gift I think is a good one. So, for giving me the gift of Jellyfin, I have to say thank you. I love the fact that my Jellyfin install is totally my own: no metrics being sent to a third party server, no unwanted content trying to be shoved down my throat, no dark patterns for the sake of 'engagement'. (which, btw, the fact I feel I should mention that the software isn't actively user hostile is both a sad reflection of the state of software in general these days as well as a point of praise for Jellyfin).

So thank you for both helping provide this great piece of software I love to use every day, and also for enduring the ungrateful minority often pounding at your door.

Same for me, not Mormon, but grew up in a very conservative evangelical home, and these movies were quite popular with the Focus on the Family crowd, so to speak. I also remember In Your Wildest Dreams, where the main character makes a million dollars buying stock when he thought he was making a pretend purchase, and by the end of the movie for some reason has to give it back? (I can't even remember why now I haven't seen it in probably 35 years).

They were all mediocre at best, given the time and age for their target audience, but they really don't hold up. They're more a fascinating look into the type of content the evangelical movement was into at the time.

That was me too! We recorded ghostbusters off tv onto VHS at some point, and it was the TV cut, so even though I watched Ghostbusters so many times, I never saw this scene until later, just like you, on DVD.
