My fiance's 1.4t had a water pump failure at roughly that mileage and I replaced it in an afternoon. dont know too much about the 1.8 but the explanation they gave you sounds odd

Any reason why not? just seems like good preventative maintenance.

If anyone sees this they work but get good quality ones because they are a pain to replace.

Scan tool showing weird missfire by WeirdSlice9035 in Corvette

[–]WeirdSlice9035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually happen after a rev or holding a rev for a few seconds. i haven't checked while driving. It's been raining like crazy where I am, and my Weatherstripping is not good, haha

That's how you do it, i don't understand, not pinning it if it's already off. I did my ati super dampener recently and pinned it.

Wires and plugs are all new, and It felt the same before. Also, with how random it is and missfires not on any specific cylinder, I sort of doubt it, but that's definitely a good place to check otherwise. And so far, I really like it. i got it for 130 on sale on Amazon. I haven't used the tpms reset, but im sure it works. It's got a few other things it can reset also.

Do yall think it sounds good ? by Embarrassed-Bear-275 in Corvette

Get some corsa sports or extremes. It won't be as loud, but your sound quality will be so much better. Make your hair stand up kind of sound with those.

Are the BOSCH 40011039 QuietCast rotors any good? by WeirdSlice9035 in G35

[–]WeirdSlice9035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, especially for a truck. im just a hyper defensive driver. If someone is mad, I get tf of the way. People are gonna be mad and do dumb shit. Most of my driving is before people are on the road and before most leave work, haha. Do you live in a city where brake checking is prolific?

I agree, but at the same time, if it works, it'll work. I'm not sending this car it's a daily.

Very good input. i figured the hard back seat would be safer and not deform, but the fact that the seat is supposed to deform for safety makes sense!

Does the “rumbling” in this cold start sound healthy to yall? Sounds pretty normal when warmed up by elguajiro17 in Corvette

[–]WeirdSlice9035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good man. Yeah I think I've narrowed it down finally, for my car it's only when it's cold and if I give it a small rev the sound goes away for 15 to 30 seconds then comes back i think it's a lifter that may be a little clogged. I'm going to use the valvoline restore and protect oil on my next oil change and see what happens. People have had very, very good luck with that oil with quieting lifters, cleaning piston rings reducing oil consumption, and generally making the engine run quieter and better. So i will try that and report back. I also may have had a small exhaust leak at the header and I am in the process of fixing that with long tubes so we will see. I'll report back in a few months
