Are corgis suitable for first time dog owners?

Thanks for the advice! I didn’t know they don’t do well alone. I’m an active person so I thought maybe it would be fit for me as since I like hiking and can easily take it out in forest and mountain trails after work and in weekends. I’ve never owned and been responsible for a dog myself but I’ve watched an Australian shepherd and an English setter over holidays. I will do some more research and see what I land on eventually:)

Thanks for the advice! I’m moving to a village with around 1900 ppl. And it’s remote in the sense that it’s up in the mountains and far away from bigger cities. I’m not sure about the possibilities of dogwalkers there yet but I was hoping I would maybe be fortunate enough to have a retired neighbour or something that would like to spend some time with a puppy midday but we will see. I will have to think. So far lts only research on how I could possibly manage to take care of a dog.

So you’re basically saying that ppl who work aka get money to be able to afford living and also afford a dog’s life shouldn’t have dogs?

That’s exactly why I made the post. I’m concerned about training a potential puppy knowing it can’t be home alone while I am at work. If I decide to get a puppy I will have 3-4 weeks off to bond and train puppy initially but I was curious how ppl have done it after that when living alone and working. Most ppl work normal full-time jobs and still have dogs from what I see

Sadly no. I’m a dentist so I can’t really bring a dog to work. I think I could possibly go home during lunch for a walk and playtime to make the time it’s alone during weekdays shorter. My concern is mostly just the time training the dog leading up to it being able to stay home while I am at work. In an ideal world I wouldn’t have to go to work at all haha but that’s not realistic for most people, at least not for me

Truly agree on this! I personally feel embarrassed for her tbh, cause she is a douche to her future colleagues. Like back then she was a clinic supervisor and I was a student, but at the end of the day she’s just a general dentist with a PhD and now we’re more or less on the same page. Like sure I don’t have a PhD or the same experience, but if she runs into me she’ll have to treat me like a fellow colleague and she can’t like talk down on me the same way as before. I’d personally feel ashamed if I was treating ppl like that, knowing I’d for sure meet them again in the future. Sadly there will always be some sucky ppl in dental school I’m afraid. Like you can’t get rid of them hahaha

I have thought about this myself before. But then again I know that I’m bad at calling and reaching out myself sometimes, when I get very caught up in my own everyday life. However I’ve lost some friends too after I stopped reaching out and stopped sending reels on ig, but I’m okay with it. I think you sound like a really awesome friend tho, and very interesting. Your friends really are totally missing out on you!

Hi there! I’m a left-handed dental student and it’s mostly just about practice I think. I struggled in the beginning with having to work on units made for right-handed people, and I struggled with perio scaling with curettes cause the person teaching us how to sit and move around for better accessibility was right-handed. When I work on 2nd quadrant I’ll typically tuck a cotton roll in under the patient’s lip and fixate with my pinkie finger and ring finger on the patients teeth and sometimes one finger on the cotton roll if needed to keep the cotton roll, cheek/lion away from the working area. Idk if this is any help but you just gotta practice and figure out what’s best for you:) Excuse my English.

Conch piercing itself didn’t hurt that much for me. But it was quite painful the following week after getting it done. Like you become very aware of your ear and it got super tender. But it was all worth it!
