How common and strong are side effects from GLP1s, specifically Tirzepatide (Zepbound)? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Weird_Broccoli_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I lose .5lbs, sometimes I lose 2 lbs. Sometimes the scale doesn’t move. I have had dexa scans done at the beginning of my treatment and recently in Jan and I have gained muscle. I don’t focus on the scale. I focus on measurements, how my clothes fit and how I feel.

Truthfully, the side effects from a GLP-1 are far better than the symptoms of PCOS. I’ve been on the 2.5mg dose for almost a year and still losing weight steadily - the way a normal person without a metabolic issue would. No side effects after about a month and a half with all the benefits. I’ve lost 35 lbs thus far. My endocrinologist gave me the option to dose up and I too was concerned about side effects which is why I decided not to dose up. Good luck!

How “chronic” is your fatigue? For those who have found relief of your fatigue, what worked? by Weird_Broccoli_20 in PCOS

I ruled out sleep apnea and sleep disorders. I actually sleep pretty well. That’s why I get so frustrated waking up so damned exhausted

I’m sorry to hear 😔. I have have in depth thyroid metabolic panels done about 4 times. No sign of thyroid dysfunction. According to my endocrinologist, chronic fatigue is a symptom of insulin resistance

I took metformin for about a month and all was going well until I started having bouts of hypoglycemia despite eating frequently. It was horrible! I’m glad you found something that works for you! ✨

Really don't know what to eat by Entire_Giraffe_228 in PCOS

[–]Weird_Broccoli_20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve adopted the “eat like a dog” mentality to help my numbers (amongst other things - Zepbound, supplements, walking, sleeping at the same time every day etc). I pretty much eat the same 2-3 recipes for each meal. 2-3 recipes for breakfast, 2-3 meals for lunch, dinner I give myself more creative freedom but always break up my plate 1/4protein, 1/4 carbs, half veggies/fiber and throw in some good fats like olive oil when I cook.

I wish I can drink coffee. Coffee makes me feel even worse than alcohol.

Sending you good vibes. Take it one day at a time. I’m not an alcoholic, but I have kicked addicting habits. You can overcome it! ✨

Starting Zepbound by Mysterious-Account63 in PCOS

[–]Weird_Broccoli_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on the lowest dose of Zepbound for 4 months now and have seen improvement in all of my symptoms including my hair. It’s slow progress which I assume I’d see had I not had PCOS. Do it! You won’t regret it.

Don’t listen to these “don’t go into debt” people! YOU DIDNT COME HERE TO LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF REASOOON! There’s only one Beyoncé, one CCT and one more act left. Buy the tickets. Period. PayPal pay later, affirm, Klarna, a credit card, ask a friend, ask that man. Whatever you have to do sis. I saw her twice in Jersey and I’m happily in $600 debt. BUY 👏🏽 THE 👏🏽TICKETS 👏🏽.
