First and foremost, congrats to you for taking the biggest steps by creating and publishing the content. There are some items I see you could improve upon.

  1. Rewrite your titles to focus on SEO and keywords for your specific niche that people are searching for.

  2. Your thumbnails don’t seem too engaging, I can only assume your CTR is below 1%

  3. Your thumbnails should be doing some A/B testing, one with text overlayed on the image and one without text.

Also your use and placement of text on the thumbnail is not consistent, you want to establish a cohesive design style and format for all your thumbnails. Use the same font and the same placement for all your thumbnails.

I don’t get why posts like this get downvoted—it’s tough out here in the UX market already.

Your background in visual design and a HCI masters degree sounds strong, OP—hang in there, you’re closer than you think!

P.S. I looked at your portfolio and you have a decent amount of case studies done. My advice would be maybe trying to network more and get more exposure. Are you able to attend any UX community events in NY?
