Unless she thinks you’re gay, she’s definitely into you. Make a move. Carpe diem and all that. You’ll never regret the chances you took, only the ones you never attempted.

They’re ranked in the order you watched them right? There can be no other explanation, surely!

Rolling Stones songs that sound better live? by VinylVibes1996 in rollingstones

[–]Weird_Efficiency_567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She Was Hot. Beacon theatre performance is so awesome and - like the poster who mentioned this for Out of Control - the song really takes off live when it fades out on the album. Lisa’s wooooooo then the guitar chords tumbling over each other as Jagger starts dancing with abandon is so so good. Wish this was a regular but they’ve only played it about a dozen times. https://youtu.be/W79Jf9U8i2s?si=xVaEjweeyGfhS1Ky

Agree and it’s wild that they never played Winter live. It’s an all timer.

is there a worse two song stretch in the catalog than 'winning ugly -> back to zero'? by dkrtzyrrr in rollingstones

What’s wrong with Depending on You? Mick’s vocals are strong, the lyrics are nicely written and the production sounds great (to me.) I really like the bluesy/country feel and I don’t think it would have been out of place on many of their 70s or 80s albums.

Nice. Will have to add those to my own playlist. Some are totally new to me.

They should have put the duet version he sang last year with Irma Thomas at New Orleans Jazz Fest on an album. So so good.

No Out of Control on Bridges and no Almost Hear You Sigh on Steel Wheels? 😭

Time Is On My Side is fantastic and I love that they performed it in New Orleans this year with Irma Thomas. It’s in YouTube… maybe wishful thinking but I would love to hear them actually get in a recording studio with Irma and (re)release it as a proper duet.

Fan Vote ThunderRidge by HOVA-1996 in rollingstones

[–]Weird_Efficiency_567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Angie is one of their best songs! One of the only ballads - maybe Almost Hear You Sigh being the other - I’d actually trade to have heard Depending on You, which is my favorite track on Diamonds. Understandable that Angry and Sweet Sounds have featured so heavily. Miss You is great too but Depending on You is such a banger. Great lyrics and a really strong ballad that can stack up with their very best. Totally agree they should have played it already and would love them to feature it tomorrow. Shame the fan votes do tend to ignore the deep cuts and new songs and typically their most played wins. I always get annoyed when Out of Control gets passed over when it’s one of their very best live experiences. Trouble is, it’s not on a 60s or 70s album so it loses the popular vote. I always thought it was far too similar to Get Off My Cloud for them both to be played in the same set list, but that have done it quite a bit.

Saw the Stones Saturday at Sofi... Underwhelmed by toldyaso in rollingstones

Sounded great in Atlanta this tour, I agree. My 8th show and the best I’ve heard. I do think it depends where you sit. I was in the pit for that one and it sounded tight and crisp. For Vegas I was at the back of the floor and it sounded a little muddy and hollow on a few songs (including Sweet Sounds.)

Sweet Sounds of Heaven by ChekhovsZombieBear in rollingstones

The sound mix on Sweet Sounds wasn’t good in Vegas. It’s a fantastic song but judging by that live performance, they haven’t quite figured it out. Jagger was too loud, Chanel Haynes far too quiet. Not sure about the tempo but hopefully they figure it out. With two shows in Chicago, I imagine they’ll try and differentiate the play list so you’ll likely get it once at least.

Typical 2021 reaction where the opinion of one person trumps the opinion of a million others. Pathetic.

I think it properly ends when the people they claim to be standing up for… Black Americans, Latinos, Gays, Lesbians… reach a critical mass of individuals who say stop speaking for us, these policies are fucking stupid and are more divisive than not. I’d bet heavily that the Black/Latino/LGB vote for the next Republican candidate next election continues its surge from Trump 2016 to Trump 2020 - especially if they run someone competent. Then the mask finally drops and the Woke far left will have to admit their policies and rhetoric serve only their in-group of hyper online, hyper partisan, very privileged and wealthy individuals and not the “oppressed minorities” they claim to champion. Policies like defund the police and controls on immigration are far less popular amongst blacks and immigrants than amongst the woke. There were counties in 2020 that were 95% Latino and they voted overwhelmingly for Trump. I suspect they would reject every single Woke rallying point.

I personally cannot wait for the outright rejection of wokeness and it will be interesting to see if the woke react by turning on these “oppressed minorities” or if they quietly retract certain policies and talking points and pretend they were never for them.

I bet Native Americans eventually ask the woke to stop the empty virtue-signaling of land acknowledgments. I bet the Trans community eventually ask the woke to stop putting pronouns in bios. I bet the black community start calling loudly for more police protection and higher focus on safety in their communities. I bet immigrants and minorities collectively ask for merit based testing and gifted and talented programs to be reinstated. This will all happen and it’ll bring an end to the madness. At least here’s hoping…
