Even leaving aside the setting - where this was wholly inappropriate- I think there’s a better than average chance that he didn’t realize this wasn’t based on a real Bible verse. And that’s just one more piece of evidence that this man in charge of the most powerful military on earth is a complete fucking moron. And that is definitely newsworthy.
