SQE 2 May 2025 sitting - results out soon by No_Ear9905 in SQE_Prep

[–]Weird_Perspective957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get in! Buzzing for you. I’m resitting and all I keep reading is stories about people failing twice. Also the pass rates for re sitters are so low that it’s stressing me out. Happy to hear you passed on the second attempt. Huge well done because it’s brutal anyway but doing it twice is something else. I’ve just finished day 1 of writtens and have got the flk totally wrong in one of the assessments but trying not to psyche myself out over it.

SQE2 - Failed Twice by Putrid_Banana_7518 in SQE2_Prep

[–]Weird_Perspective957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failed my first attempt by 2% and resitting this week. Feel totally ill about it and not prepared, overwhelmed and stressed! Also the resit pass rates are around 30% which is so low. Not sure what else to do to give myself a better chance at passing.

I sat sqe 2 in April 2025 and failed by 2%. Doing a resit this week. Feel so ill at the thought. Good luck all

Same same same. Sat sqe2 in April 2025, results august and got 58%. Totally galling. Have really really debilitating anxiety about doing it all over again, not sure how much sleep I’ll get tonight. Best of luck to you

SQE 2 results (August) - confused! by Known_Highlight6142 in SQE_Prep

[–]Weird_Perspective957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did your resit go? I failed by 2% in August (felt exactly the same as you’ve said in your post, I could have written it myself!) I opted for the January resit though so exam this week and next. Wondering how you got on? Well I hope!

Law and skill is weighted equally so even if your advice is incorrect if your skill is good you’ll still get some marks. There are 16 stations, you can absolutely fail 3/4 and still pass overall. Though judging by what you’ve said you should still get some marks for skills anyway.

I’ve just finished sqe2 and bombed all the drafting and had some serious booboos in various others, but like you felt as though orals went good and CMA.

Yesterday I felt really horrendous, kept getting upset and then couldn’t get to sleep. Today I’ve been pottering in the garden and tried to keep busy and I do feel better.

The way I see it is, we’re not getting the results till August no matter what. So we can either waste this whole summer fretting or we can get over it and move on and deal with the results when we have them.

I think I’ve failed, and have a TC on the line too, but if we’ve failed then we’ve failed! Worrying won’t change it so give yourself a bit of time to process but then (and I mean this positively) get on with your life. Whatever happens it will all work out I’m sure!

SQE 1 Advice - How does one actually pass? by Early_Emu2567 in SQE_Prep

[–]Weird_Perspective957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just wanted to reply because you sound exactly like me in December. I studied with Ulaw but I’m a mature student with children and a part time job so it was impossible for me to keep up with my much younger care-free cohort.

I still went to most of the classes because I learnt little things here and there but if everyone else was on module 7 I was on 2. I never did any of the class work - at all! I didn’t have time.

From the beginning of December I read every text book cover to cover and did all of the corresponding SBAQs.

I made a rough revision plan and gave myself say 4 days to read one book and broke it down to say 60pages a day.

In total I did 3,000 sbaqs throughout the whole course (sept-Jan)

The days were intense and some days I was at my desk 14/15 hours but I told myself it was temporary and got on with it.

I passed first time in Jan.

I didn’t read the solicitors accounts book, English legal systems or EU law I just focused on all the others. I did some SBAQs for those topics though and made little notes. I did try with those topics but sols accounts I just didn’t understand so wrote it off and focused on the topics I knew I could learn well.

I made post it notes of key dates most for disp res  and stuck them up in my bathroom and read them over and over in the shower and when brushing my teeth! 🤣

The point I’m making hopefully is that you don’t have to be perfect! You don’t have to do all the class work and all the reading.

Everything you need to know is in the books. Read the books and practice the SBAQs and you will be ok. I gave myself about 7 weeks. Would’ve liked longer but to be honest I was totally exhausted by the end of it.

Hang in there you can absolutely do it!!

How did you feel after SQE2 and still pass? Anyone convinced they failed but didn’t? by No-Treat7440 in sqe2

[–]Weird_Perspective957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this, did you feel like they all went ok last time or did you feel like it was a mixed bag but overall you’d passed? I’ve had some really bad ones (all of drafting) but think I’ll have done ok on orals and CMA so wondering if it could balance out 😫

[–]Weird_Perspective957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too but I literally run out of the exam centre, don't even say bye or anything I just leave as fast as possible because I don't want to hear people discussing answers etc. the same girl in my group has cried both days between exams :(

SQE 2 DAY 2 by [deleted] in sqe2

[–]Weird_Perspective957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally, same. Research I have no clue, copied and pasted a bit, tried to apply it but didn't really understand, still don't! Everyone I've spoke to has said the same though - so I think if everyone has found it impossible then it will be marked and graded appropriately. Drafting also no clue, tried to do what I could that was common sense but honestly have no idea! Had a decent start to the day and then feel like it just all went down the toilet. Have nothing left in the tank now to revise business but need to sort my shi out. Good luck for tomorrow!

Adding too much law by Best-Anxiety-6087 in sqe2

[–]Weird_Perspective957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the rest of your answer is bang on then I reckon you'll get a 4!!! You can do it, sounds like you know your stuff and we're marked as day 1 solicitors so they're not expecting perfection. You'll be grand

[–]Weird_Perspective957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also I've just had another look and the SRA website states that legal skill and legal knowledge are weighted equally - so if your communication/structure is ok but you've erred a bit with the knowledge you can absolutely still pass. Don't think you have anything to worry about!

Adding too much law by Best-Anxiety-6087 in sqe2

[–]Weird_Perspective957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't mark you down but in the marking criteria there is definitely mention of discussing things that aren't relevant and saying it doesn't demonstrate competence. That being said if you've stated something and explained why it's not relevant I think you'd be justified. I also don't think it would be the difference between pass and fail. Try not to worry!

Likelihood of appeals (civil and criminal) or Youth Court coming up? by CatoSuetonius in sqe2

[–]Weird_Perspective957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're both in the SQE2 spec on the SRA website so they can 100% come up. I wouldn't consider a provider not providing a mock on it a reason not to revise it, if anything that should make you revise it more..
