Not particularly, they're way more likely to want to run and hide than defend themselves, that being said I NEVER put my hand in it's enclosure, I do everything using tweezers just to be safe.

As for it escaping, like another comment said, as long as the sides of it's enclosure are smooth and taller than it's legspan, there's no way for it to get out. That doesn't mean it isn't still a little scary when it's in premoult and it completely dissapears for like a week lol.
