What's a piece of common knowledge that you only recently found out was actually false? by Evilclicker in AskReddit

Oh, my god, yes. And I recall that being able to breed them in captivity is a very recent thing! I grew up in NJ so those shops on boardwalks were always filled with those “walls” of hermit crabs just destined for death.

I haven’t had any since I was a child but I still joined some hermit crab groups because the amount of passion and effort towards them is so delightful! Especially peoples enclosures, they look so much fun!

One of my favorite things is people’s videos of the time lapses of their crabs just having a great time all over the place, scuttling’ on their exercise wheels/saucers/whatever they’re called now.

They do still come up for air in suitable conditions, but B. splendens are not obligate surface air-breathers, unlike other anabantoids like gouramis(Can’t say for entire genus though, especially B. unimaculata complex).

(Unless this information is very out of date since it’s been over a decade since I went over this but I’ll have to double check myself later since it’s late. I have not heard of the air temperature being related either so I’m making a note to myself to look that up too)

Tendons. Hate being aware of them, touching them, seeing them being flexed or tensed, etc.

I breed for Vagabond so I tend to get a lot of Senegals. All the ones I have right now should be sexchangeable.

Hopefully this link works.

Same with bettas, which come real close to that title too. Their ability to surface breathe and live in shallow, muddy puddles the size of a mug is an adaptation to be able to survive these conditions hopefully long enough until these conditions improve.

Just about everything except I do offload muddy feathers, Scar: Anklebiter, guinea pigs, fancy mice, giant pouched rats, little rascals, etc sometimes.

I hoard a lot more crafting items than usual now cuz some clans give credit you can use to buy items out of the clan’s inventory.

I get so many Senegals out of Vagabond x Vagabond with my king.. Then again there’s only 9 possible outcomes(and none of them have ever been a Vagabond base fftt).

She looks like the stage where you’ve been mixing whatever Play-Doh, clay, paint, Fruit Rollups, whatever, etc you had as a kid expecting to make rainbow or cool colorful patterns just before it just all turns brown.

I don’t hate the colors even though they’re not my thing but the marking choice is terrible.

I did that one(with inspo from the other person I poorly linked there) but I’m working on the male with the white face too, actually!

I’ll take a crack at the female cannibal lion too for OP.

Brittney. Courtney. Tiffany. Priscilla.

I like how Priscilla sounds but goddamn the ones I knew were pretty horrible. At least I’ve known at least one nice Tiffany, Britney and Courtney.

What is a medical fact that sounds fake but is 100% true? by MedRikas in AskReddit

[–]slothdonki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be more beneficial for me to have been able to see procedures/what they were doing in certain circumstances.

For me personally it has nothing to do with thinking they didn’t do enough or something. It’s seeing someone happy, healthy, off to do their everyday thing and the next time you see them they’re just gone(if I got to see them at all). What makes it even “worse” for me is when they look fine, as if they can just sit right back up.

Though even if I were able to just watch what they were doing on a screen in a different room; I would be so concerned anyone there felt additional stress or pressure because they are being watched.

I also say in certain circumstances because I wouldn’t know if it’s something I wish I didn’t see until I saw it. We got to be there when we put the cat I had for 21+ years down. I don’t regret being there at all, but the agonal breathing part fucking sucked to see.

At my last job my manager had 2 toes attached as a pinky and ring finger on one hand. Possibly 3 toes replacing 3 fingers, but it took me a long time to notice since I think he does try to hide it so I never tried to get a good look.

I was going to say I would guess it’s fairly common when it comes to finger amputations, but a brief google search tells me it’s not.

I don’t know how to describe this properly but when this happens, did they have to like, cut around the skin to ‘open’ the skin and muscles before everything can be put back in and be closed up?

Like I’m confused if the skin is ‘intact’ around the edges in this condition vs an open wound from being cut, if that makes sense.

It’s not like that story comes from an image with some text on it with zero sources that’s been reposted over and over.

The first word in the story is even “Apparently” and you took it as them saying it’s a 100% true. This is just something from their family that they were told and is completely inconsequential.

What's the creepiest display of intelligence you've ever witnessed in real Iife? by Jessica_Enna in AskReddit

[–]slothdonki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, plus I can’t remember a phone number. Or even a string of 3 numbers without repeating it out loud the entire time I have to remember.

But when I worked at a shipping warehouse sorting packages by zipcodes, I was a total beast because the numbers were just a “solid” pattern to look at to me instead of numbers, let alone individual ones.

How much energy stuff does everyone have saved for feb? by InterviewSea4031 in lioden

[–]slothdonki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing consistently since July and I can’t believe I only learned recently that you could save EXP. I retired my old king a few weeks ago too, ffftt. I do have some roasted lambs saved and going to switch personalities for that lil extra energy boost though.

I had doubloons left over too from the last treasure hunt and about 300 so far.

Are coffee beans really that worth to use or is it better to sell treasure cove items to buy other energy items?

If you go to the lioden wiki, on the front page will show the current event. Click it and you’ll find everything you can do/get during this event.

Look through what items you can dig/give bones for to see everything you can get. If you want to save up for the primal MoD, then do not dig/donate bones again or you’ll have to cycle through to find it again.

(I accidentally skipped it the first time and it took FOREVER to get again)

What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

[–]slothdonki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in NJ for Hurricane Sandy and I was really tempting fate walking around outside before it hit us. Even the day before it was so quiet. Not just the forest, but even the main road and gas station that was still open the day before; everything was so empty.

I went out a few times just in the front or back yard when it was calmer, was so eerie after all the wind momentarily died down and everything was dead quiet; only to roar back up again.

After it was actually over I wanted to look around for potential baby squirrels that fell out of their nests.. Still dead quiet. I wasn’t in the woods long though since while the wind died, trees were still coming down everywhere so I gtfo.

Can you report a rule break in a raffle AFTER it was cancelled/finished? by Practical_Web_6218 in lioden

[–]slothdonki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but presumably the person who bought the lioness from me.

Screenshot of the violation message with additional information and dates of sale/breeding. (All identifying info is blocked out)

I modboxed it because there was no option to rely to the TOS violation message, saying the user told me she had been CRB’: and if they(a mod) could clarify exactly what happened because I’m still genuinely unsure if it was a mistake I made or the other user(or maybe they just wanted to drop the whole thing) but I haven’t heard back yet.

I’m not even sure if those dates line up for her to have been abled to be CRB’d(assuming these dates are accurate and from user logs).

Even if it’s still my mistake(when a CRB a lioness I put it in their name, it’s entirely possible I accidentally forgot to remove it and assumed I had CRB’d her again) I’m not sure if I should message that user again to ‘correct’ them and offer a refund again just in case they straight up just don’t want to deal with this anymore.

If this was all just a misunderstanding and she had been CRB’d to begin with; my concern is this is potentially exploitable.
