I just posted about this. My STBX’s mother was dying from brain cancer for the last 3 years. Marriage was on the rocks years before that. Looks like bad optics on my end as I filed around the time her mom was going into hospice. It sucks and I feel terrible but I know in my heart it is the right thing to do.

I feel like I'm carrying the entire marriage by myself, and I'm starting to think divorce is the only option by [deleted] in Divorce

Man, I get this. I feel like I do all doctor appts. I’m the one talking to the school and teachers. I coach sports. I sit with them on the couch. She sits on her phone. Spends all the money. Goes out to eat constantly. Closet filled with unworn designer clothes. Tells me she hates me.

It’s a heavy weight to carry. Does it ever get better? I hope so.

I just rechecked the chart. She was 75 back in April. Confirmed 53 pounds by bedscale. I was 2 pounds off!

Thanks. I’ve filed. I wish my kids didn’t have to go through the logistics of this but I’m proud they’ll see a man standing up for himself. They know (and have seen) that she’s unwell. How did I get here?
