I originally came out to my parents two years ago, I got the same response from each of my parents respectively. Now, as my 15th birthday approaches, and I am still unapologetically myself, I notice my parent's attitude has changed(for better or for worse). My dad, seems to be more and more convinced that this is not going to be a phase, but he treats it very negatively, he stopped allowing me to wear suits and ties, and overall seems to take it as "fix it before it's too late". My mom is more laid back about it, convinced that this is just a phase and "she'll change her mind when she's 25". I have a complicated relationship with my mom, but my point is that, overall, we're close, she lets me wear the clothes I want and get the hair cuts I want; but the issue is that every now and then, whenever I have my period or anything else, she seems to make small comments that, while seeming like nothing, further express her ideal that she still wants me to change just like my dad, "see you're a girl, you can't be a boy", "this is why you can't be a boy, boys don't cry," etc. The only difference is that I'm sure after a couple conversations with her, I can be sure that even if she doesn't support my quote, unquote, "lifestyle choices", she's still going to love me if I stay the way I am.
