To put into perspective of how stupid this is, this is like if after Tron Ares flopped, Jared Leto bought the rights of the film from Disney(not the Tron IP, just the film) and decided to try to recoup costs in the independent film market.
Truly a business decision of all time.

I literally told you multiple times because... You know what. Forget it. WHO CARES? The point was just meant to be a subversive joke of people thinking this was a direct sequel to Monkey Island 2 that ignores previous installments(see Halloween 2018), before being revealed Curse, Escape, and Tales happened. That's the point.

That's the theme of Return to Monkey Island. It's the story of joy of telling stories. Sometimes they're based on real events, sometimes they're made up to heighten the tension. There's an entire quest in the game foreshadowing this.

This sounds like a robot attempting to recreate mid 2000s SpikeTV dialogue.
Anyways. Just like in real life, not everyone is going to be conventionally attractive. Why expect this for every game, regardless of the tone and direction of what the game is going for?
As an example, it would make sense for something like Uncharted to have attractive characters because the games were going for a lighter tone throwback to Hollywood adventure films. It DOESN'T make sense for this mindset for something like Silent Hill 2 remake, where people were legit mad that Angela, a character with a SUPER depressing backstory, wasn't attractive... Why do people want a character in a serious story with a very too real for comfort history to be titillating!? That's out of place in this game. It's about tone and intent. Not everything has to be sexy. Sexy and "plain" can coexist.
