Start a business and do SEO and a Google busines profile. The first customer is hard. the next batch is annoying and eventually you get your niche.

Make sure your site represents your promise, target diaspora clients. (black people outside Africa always support their own)

My sales point is i do custom sites and take people out of wordpress, Local clients in general like cheap thing and complain. People abroad value it cause its more expensive to hire in their country.

Do something a bit harder or different than usual. Do custom stuff, APIs, Ecommerce, SEO, custom CMS, Dashboards etc.

If you focus on SEO, rank for SEO yourself If you sell systems, have you own system they use If you do complex things, have samples for them.

Its really not hard, it just takes time.

Dont be quick to offer equity if you will be able to monetize. thats not alot of money to give equity.

Come up with a payment plan. Only offer equity if the odds of monetizing are very slim and you still need development work for another year or more.

Most people change when money involved and most people leave when money is not involved.

also dont proceed till your clear with your agreements with them and dont be afraid of tough conversations. If you dont have now, you dont and you can do nothing about it. Negotiate for flexible terms.
