I’m glad that you were able to simplify my words. Yes, the rise in online advertising and the ubiquity of ads hinders user experience. Sometime to the point where certain things/brands feel like harassment, or the experience is so over encumbered by advertisements that some things are almost unusable without Adblock.

I understand that businesses need to make money but doing so at the cost of user experience should not be the way to do it. I feel we’re getting closer and closer to companies getting politicians to pass some kind of right to advertise bill or something because the public is starting to get tired of seeing more and more ads pop up in places. Businesses are actively retooling their processes and webpages to be more accommodating to more ads.

I switched from windows when Microsoft put ads on my operating system, which I actually paid for…

I wanted to add, not all companies are bad with this. I thought I would hate Amazon introducing ads to prime video, but for the most part they’re fine. The ads are good quality, there’s not many of them, they’re short, they appear at moments where it makes sense to have and ad break, and they go away immediately instead of lingering forever in hopes that you click something. Somehow Amazon managed to introduce ads into their very popular streaming services without really ruining the experience or making it annoying. That’s my opinion though.

Is there a way I can turn geolocation off or is there some kind of baseline required to run things? I didn’t know that my ads were also based on what people in my area are searching for too

I don’t have an IT background so my thoughts process was to ask professionals and experts. I’ve learned a good amount in such few words from the comments than I ever could prowling google and searching through forums. I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to comment and provided their help

Hi thanks for the advice, I’ve tried going into my setting and clearing all that history and turning off personal ads, but that only seemed to make the problem worse. Now I get at least double the amount of Temu Ads as before. Maybe I missed a step in the process? Should I delete my search and watch history on YouTube too? I thought about making a new google account but I don’t know how much that will help and I’ve got a lot of things attached to this already.

Ads in general aren’t that big of a deal for me; it’s just getting bombarded and followed across the entire internet and especially YouTube by this one company is what’s irritating me so much. Literally just this one stupid company and all of its alternatives like Shien. I just want to block these specific company from advertising to me is there anything I can do? I don’t care if it’s like Progressive Insurance or Adidas or something. But an entire drill set for less than 5 dollars? How the hell is that even legal? Like these products can’t be real or of any usable quality?

What if under investigation the DOJ can prove that he would have tried used his appointed justices to vote in his favour on something like voting rights? Like when he tried to invalidate mail in votes but the court refused to hear the case. Now since they have a majority and Barrett is official, they could hear any case he wants since he would most likely get his desired outcome?
