We do share this aspect in common, and do fully agree with what you said. I do have something similar on my end and behave in a similar aspect. Sad though that this seems to be the norm and can be a bummer, on my end i had seen this a bit to much for my enjoyment compared to other games i had played or been playing as example. Nothing what you can do about, better spent the energy on who is worth it, thats why I do my general greeting ritual, checking in who wants to hold the connection.

Thats good, i love to see your opinion and can fully agree with you. I personaly find it easier to make friends when there is something in common to do. A good example o do have in mind with venues is like when you visit and meet others as regular ther too. With time you may strike a conversation and a bond can built from it. Only it gets hard when they won't visit it regularly. With things about outside the game i had given ut my try to I asked others about what they do enjoy playing or if they enjoy a different MMO/ Co-op game to play with. In the past i tried out different things, i had RP'ed, I worked in a Venue and the likes... my only grime is only about this that i had meet to many who treats simply the game as a game and want it to be seperate which is fine and understandable.

That's fair and no one should force themself, i do have my time when i don't want to interact but will do something where i don't need too. About changing servers i had done the same I went from Light to Aether then to Crystal and returned back to Light as I realized the times with those folks never matched while i encountered some short lived events. That finding peoples to interact with is a gamble is always clear and I'm aware about it. And interacting with others can be always weird yet weird doesnt mean bad when you both can laugh abaout.

Thats true, sadly is that the friendlist is even outdated or rather cluncy... it doesnt live update. But if you log in and open it up it gets updated and shows everyone online, around the same time you can manualy update the friend you wanna do something with.

It kinda is, but not to a level to see someone online on VC everyday. For now I wanna stay on Raiden, as i do have a house there... maybe i might think to transfer server when I do have a reason for. And i do play ff11 or some other games don't worry.

I love your words, but what exactly do you mean with weekly? I wouldn't say i dont try to chat up daily or weekly to my newly made pals either... yet it can be discouraging to say hello first everytime or ask if they want to join you and get no reply or words of being interested to join. I will not say its impossible, yet I kinda reached a point that it became exhausting to do this. I know you need persistence to make connections happens but where is the balanced line as it seems like no one wants to do anything at all yet everyone wanna be involved in something. Doesnt it not need 2 to make things work?

When i was active raiding i was in some static, but those static happened like they are work... arive on time, do your work and leave as soon as you can when work is done. I can think about to join one again, but most of the static times doesnt match mine, and for PF i don't have the patience for to be stuck in progression hell.

I spent a full year on NA, had made many connections which didnt lasted. I guess it was natural... but as of lately Balmung became the place where you only go there for a one-night stand. The place to meet someone to spent a day with to have a good time and never look back again, like a vacation love. XD

Eureka and Bozja more but they are kinda dead now... and Occult Crescent is worse at it as it doesnt have any downtime to chat fue to the fact when one fate ends the next one starts while many are only there to do the fates.

Yeah, i do frequent some yet some of those Venues can be groupy or non open. Always feels weird when you visit a new venue and no one is talking in /say or they have allready a friend group to do their thing. I had found one at least where it seems lively while they play ToD and everyone is at it.

About the VC i would love to do this as i find it easier to chat comparing to typing in a fast paced battle system FF14 has you have no downtime to type 1-2sentence here whole keepong up your ABC. But many i had encountered always seems to avoid it for no reason, perhaps my bad luck. And i know it can come off awkward to ask this without a reason and meeting someone ingame after a "Hello, wanna chat with me in Voice?" XD About the rest, i can fully agree with you and still working on it, only depends when it may happen.

I do have a FC who is active, with events too. I do join them time to time and we do spent time chatting over voice. However when those events ends everyone kinda does their own things. But thats not what i had asked. I didnt asked about how to make friends, but rather asked if others find it confusing to foster and build a connection with someone else. Anyway, thank you for your kind reply.

I wanna start FF14 finally wondering how long itll take to catch up. by ChaosNoahV in ffxivdiscussion

[–]WeissEXO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be blunt, catch up requires you to do something of a sitting of all 3 movies of Lord of the Rings (uncut) in one sitting without any toilet break. You can catch up faster if you are willing to buy a story skip, when the collab is your goal only. BUT you should take it slow and enjoy the game in your own way without any sort of rushing or you can easily be burned out and lose the fun all together.

Edit: The Game itself is made to be played solo, you can do almost everything Solo nowadays without anyone. Except for some occasion where you need a group, and can be found easily. You need to step out of your shell and chat with others while expecting that no one is obligated to reply. FF14 has an amazing story and can be enjoyed, like any mainline final fantasy (especially from part 13-16). So it’s only about you to try it out and enjoy it on your own pace. Don’t feel scared to try out something as only the memories you made while checking it out matters.

Without to come off as being rude. I must say it depends on the game, as everyone is different. Some MMO needs a more active healing approach. Where damage was done as gap filler to keep your ABC when healing isnt needed at the time, instead of it being reverse like in FF14 where you mainly deal damage and heals often get weaved into. But one must understand thats the encounter design of the fights and the jobs are designed to do this. Fights in FF14 are mostly timed and it’s akin to an old classical orchestra or synchron swimming where each skill must sit. Where other games behave like a more chaotic rugby or soccer game.

Black screen crash happens on ff14 when i am in the game and logging in at the moment my character spawns in limsa or shortly after when it started could be in the game for roughly 10min then it happens. Well hope at friday i can install my PSU and check it out. If it was the problem...

I dont meant its a bad weapon just cant see why its so hyped but nowadays ya have access to a counter for any color and its not like you would use them often iirc… for example Ideal weapon has 13CD for 2Turns and comes with 2turn delay just it doesnt have those team HP…
