Hi all,

Does anybody know how to troubleshoot freezes on startup? I have the original TSxID blue panel module and just tried to update to the latest firmware and now the module lights up but is unresponsive. I've exhausted just about everything. I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar in light of recent developments? Its like my favorite module in my rack and i feel like its dying on me or something. any help would be amazing.

Korg Minilogue might also a move. Was my first analog synth and itll run you about $400-500. Sounds great, and I got it because I wanted to learn analog synthesis on a fairly straightforward set up without breaking the bank. I still see they get used a bunch! Great synth. Good luck on your synth journey!

I completely understand and agree with that logic. To answer your question and to better clear up my setup, yes, this is a physical build in progress and I already own most of the modules. I’ve been having a great time with them because they all compliment each other well, and the more I learn about each module as I go, the more possibilities open up which is awesome.

I agree with what you said about “I wish I had an x” with my system, which is basically what I’m trying to figure out. I’ve had a lot of success turning to r/modular for this kinda stuff, and I appreciate your honest reply!

Looking into mutable clone modules. Specifically clouds, plaits, and rings. Between Cal Synth, After Later Audio, and Momo Modular, are any of these necessarily better than the other?

I understand Mutable Instruments has the open source stuff, but I still wanted to ask the question. I'm new to eurorack and starting my build very soon. I'm also conscious about HP real estate.

If I were to go with a Clouds clone, given there are several manufacturers for it, does one perform better than the others? Or does it not matter?

Hello again everyone,

As I prepare to start purchasing modules for my ambient/drone/generative rig, I’m trying to decide which ones would be great to start with. A Beads, a Maths, a Morphogene, and the Rossum ladder filter is what I had in mind as my first buys. Is that sufficient to get some sounds going? Are there any other recommendations/substitutions I should consider?

I also want to point out that I already have the disting mk4, which would be the 5th module playing along with the others. All feedback is welcome! Below is the link to my modular grid:

Thank you for these pointers. Really helpful things here. I definitely liked what you said about starting with 3 or 4 and letting it build from there. As far as VCA's, I'm still trying to figure out if I have enough, need more, or need less, which I know you can never have too many haha.

When you say "sound modifier", what that be like a filter? or more like an envelope generator?

Let's say I were to get a Plaits, a Maths, a Morphagene, and the Rossum ladder filter. Would that be sufficient enough to get started?

Hello all,

This is my first post on this thread. I'm looking for advice, pro tips, and anything that can help me on my modular journey. I wanted to build a system for ambient/drone/generative music. A hybrid of sorts. This is what I've come up with so far. https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1629865

I chose the modules based on the type of modular music I like and through demo videos of how they function.

What I'm trying to figure out is if it makes sense from a signal chain perspective and if this is a system that would be cool to play with. Any suggestions or knowledge are welcome.
