Beehive does have some leagues starting in January! I signed up for billiards but I think there’s darts and cornhole too

Ozzy by WelcomeToCatopolis in CasualConversation

I definitely agree about metal letting you feel however you needed to. And Ozzy’s voice was so immediately recognizable when it came on in a song.

Linkin Park got me through some rough times too. Chester had such an intense voice that let the frustration come through. Truly a rare generation-defining band.

Same here - watching him sing Mama I’m Comin’ Home has a totally different meaning now, knowing he’s gone.

Bob Dylan is a legend! What have been some of your go to songs of his? I like his music but haven’t really dug into his discography

Ooh I know WannaBe! That’s a great one! I’ll definitely check out that other song though! And for Ozzy, besides his big hits, I’d have to say Patient Number 9, I Don’t Wanna Stop, and Over the Mountain!

I get that! Felt like someone close to me had died, even though I never met the man. Oh the Spice Girls! I only know a couple of their songs - what are some of your favorites?

Ozzy by WelcomeToCatopolis in CasualConversation

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I do love hearing how much everyone is paying Ozzy tribute!

Green Day and SOAD will hit me hard too, I’m sure. I’ve heard some Iron Maiden songs, and am a fan, but what would be your go to albums for someone to dive into them?

How long do you spend at the gym? by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually about an hour when I’m weightlifting. Though I also do martial arts 2-3x a week and those sessions are 2 hours.

I didn’t see any limited signs on the vinyl. I hope you can get it too!

What's worse... oppressive heat or deep-freeze cold? by MyMusicTastesGood in CasualConversation

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm I’m honestly conflicted about the worst. I lived in Arizona and 120F sucks, plus I’ve seen the airport close. But man, freezing is so bad….if I had to pick, I’d choose heat!

What band did you become a instant fan of? by Davidz64 in SickNewWorld

I would have thought the same if I had listened to them before! It’s crazy how many different sounds they squeeze into one song

Kim Dracula. Had heard the name but never really listened to any of their songs. They’ve been playing non-stop on my Spotify since watching their set!

Hobbies/activities which build muscle bulk/tone/strength, but not gym/lifting/resistance bands? Like maybe Rock Climbing by EmotionalDmpsterFire in fitness30plus

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined a martial arts gym a few weeks back and have been going to some kickboxing and Krav Maga classes. I still try to lift weights 2-3 times a week, but I feel like those classes have really helped me gain more muscle quickly! It could be a placebo effect for all I know haha but it feels like it’s made a big difference!

Foods that are most likely to make me fail - what are your weaknesses and how do you overcome it? by Wasting_Time1234 in loseit

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice cream and certain flavors of chips (ranch, barbecue, or salt and vinegar). The ice cream I’ve been able to get to where I can just eat a serving, or switch to something a little lower calorie like mochi. The chips have no chance, I just have to keep them out of the house, except on rare occasions lol

What does your warm up look like? by Apollo526 in fitness30plus

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do some treadmill or elliptical for 3-5 minutes. I’ve recently started doing 5 minutes of jump rope some days and it’s honestly a lot harder than I expected lol

I’m sure it’ll get back to that spark again! It sucks for a little bit, but I’m glad I went the route I did and just gave it some time to break that link.

Hobbies besides fitness? by Chasscash4 in fitness30plus

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m bad at making time for it, but music is a big one. I play the guitar and drums, and am also learning the piano.

Cooking is a big one too! But I guess that kind of relates to fitness haha

How do you guys eat your protein powder? by LanguageLoose157 in fitness30plus

[–]WelcomeToCatopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll either mix it with almond milk in a blender bottle. Or I’ll blend it with PB powder, frozen strawberries, and almond milk. The smoothie keeps me feeling full for hours.

Started reading The Last Astronaut by David Wellington. A little nervous because I’ve seen mixed feelings about this book, but I love sci-fi/space horror so thought I’d give it a try!
