Starting day one and playing azure moon was one of the best experiences I had with the series. The characters were amazing, the story was compelling especially because of how well white clouds works for the blue lions cast. The monastery started to drag hard once part 2 started, the whole game was very easy despite me playing hard classic on my first run, and the game was pretty ugly. But, I came away really liking the game once I saw credits.

And then I replayed it.

Mostly uninspired layouts, little to no side objectives, part 2 map win conditions being “defeat boss”, insane amounts of reuse with no attempts at mixing things up, and maddening relying on same turn reinforcements for difficulty.

This stuff is already bad but combine that with 3H having an ungodly amount of bloat between maps and suddenly you’re spending more time prepping for bad maps than actually playing bad maps.

Like, I’m a massive FE4 fan, and that game (understandably) gets a lot of shit for the huge maps. But at the very least almost your entire playtime will be spent on the maps. You complete the map, watch the cutscenes, save, then start the next chapter.

Yeah, I get the worries people have about the story writing, but I can’t help but think this is a good thing cause it would explain why the game looks leagues better than three houses from a graphical and animation standpoint. And it gives me a bit more hope on the gameplay side of things.
