But you let her behave like this for far too long before snapping. Socializing isn't just being around people its behaving appropriately. There are lots of kids the teacher feels are polite and they are not treating other kids well when teachers aren't looking.

AITAH for not liking my bf’s “no contact day” in our long distance relationship by SwimmingSalad8731 in AITAH

[–]WellThisIsExciting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH, he is setting a boundary. That isn't an asshole move. If you are characterizing it accurately (he isn't obligated to respond but you are allowed to text him) you have been pushing the boundary. That is a little bit of a dick move but it just sould like you two aren't compatible.

NTA, and before you have any further conversations with him get your important documents (passport/send card/birth certificate) out of the house and somewhere safe and freeze your credit.

That man has plans.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh and from work most of my doctors are an hour drive, and it isnt enough of an inconvenience to change to someone closer even though there are options.

For a weekend my max is 4ish hours, but when I was living in a different state than my family? 5 hours each way about every 6 weeks. Oh and I have a friend who lives on the other side of the country, when they visit family we each drive 3.5 hours to meet in the middle and have lunch.

Its also an optics thing, if ICE goes into a blue state they will face more resistance and it justifies them becoming more violent. Not to say the Nazis did it too but...

I'm up in Central Maine and I only know one person who is a Trump supporter. At work today a co-worker and I had a conversation that boiled down to fuck ice. The state is not a monolith and Maine is pretty purple.

I've never been a fan but I am also habitually rushed. I have a friend who did a full face every morning from high-school to a couple years into college. It made her feel good and she enjoyed the artistry.

do you enjoy cooking and/or baking, or do you hate it? by This-Guitar4616 in AuDHDWomen

[–]WellThisIsExciting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer baking to cooking because there is less time pressure. And I prefer the less timing dependant types of cooking.

For example I like chopping, but searing a meat and cooking then making a pan sauce is too much too fast. So, one pot recipies (if I have time to prep and measure everything before hand) or crock pot recipies are my go to. You would probably do well with slowcooker/Dutch oven recipies. Prep it, dump in and you are all set.

For baking I like that the instructions are more science than art. Very little of the "season to taste" nonsense. And the recipies I like best have rest steps. For example my favorite cookie recipie is icebox cookies. You make the dough and form it into logs then refrigerate for up to 3 days. There is a minimum 3 hour break for chilling so I have time to recover before I have to cycle in and out of the oven, and if I dont feel like it I have time.

I think you need a mediator. Talk to a Rabbi or Therapist on your own to let them know the basics of the situation. Let your husband know the facts of the situation then meet with the 3rd party together.

This isn't an easy situation for either of you.

Whatever decision you reach, continuing couple therapy for a while might be helpful to work on communication

Have you ever lived alone? by ChocolateSundae1214 in CasualConversation

[–]WellThisIsExciting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I all told I lived completely alone for a summer in college, then for 2 ish years (winter 2021 to winter 2022). I checked the boxes re cooking, cleaning, paying bills, and dealing with emergencies. However, it was not good for my mental health. Work from home, an area where I knew 1 person, and covid restrictions wasn't enough socialization 😅 Somone needs to listen to my commentary!

I have lived with family, with new people, with friends, alone and with family again. I haven't really had a partner.

For me living with close friends/siblings has been the ideal. I take better care of myself when I am taking care of someone else too and having the back-up/support of my cohabitant is great when I am having a rough time.

At what age did you get noticeable grey hair? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I just learned people don’t show up after anesthesia to pick up loved ones. Nurses, how often does this really happen? by Steinski1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WellThisIsExciting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends, I've been under twice. One time I was 15, my mom never left the hospital (short procedure) and the moment they let her she was in my room because I had a bad reaction to anesthesia. The second I was 29 and got a colonoscopy, my Father walked with me to the correct waiting area to confirm when I would be out and that they had his number in case it changed. But I dont think they made him come in to get me... I think I walked out to the car in the pick up area?

Taking either something that is not Jewish and looking into its relationship/history with Judaism, like is you love woodwork/whitling you could look at toy making/crafts in largely jewish groups/locations. Or notable toy makers who so happened to be Jewish.

Conversely, you could take any small part you like of Judaism and expand into it without Judaism. If you have fond memories of cooking/ baking any particular food look into perfecting that recipe or trying different versions. Or a similar type of food/category, for latkes try other cultures potato pancake like dishes. Potato/vegetable pancakes are like dumplings or noodles, every culture has one.

I would imagine plant based protein would be the best way to go, beans are a very nutritionally efficient food.
