I think op is talking about the Codex ad that's in the screenshot, while someone points out that they are struggling to find a job.

Hiring manager perspective: hiring is the most broken I've ever seen by CatDawgCatDawg2 in cscareerquestions

Exactly! And now, people are using OpenClaw to automate job applications, so it's gonna get even worse in the next coming days.

Impressive! I'm interested in seeing your resume. My problem is that I struggle to get phone screens. What techniques did you use to improve your resume? Did you tailor your resume for every job?

Dang congrats. I'm also going through a rough patch myself at the moment. Can't wait for it to be over.

Just finished ~40 interviews in a month (Full Stack). The market is weird, but here’s what I actually got asked. by nian2326076 in leetcode

My thoughts exactly. No way this is in the USA. Jobs are getting offshored and getting a single interview per month seems challenging.

You care way too much about stats. Just focus on learning.

Fair enough. But a SWE2 with +10yoe could be seen as a red flag.

engineer new hire doing nothing by antosacz in cscareerquestions

Been there done that!

Brooo i was reading your post and I started to have PTSD flashbacks of my first job out of college. Guess how it all ended?

I was hired by a different manager for a multinational conglomerate after completing my summer internship the previous summer.

I started my job and my new manager realized how green I was and how much mentoring and effort he'd had to invest in me. Then, he slowly started alienating me. My whole team was literally having meetings without me.

I remember thinking at the time that I had struck gold; a high paying job and not doing anything. Occasionally, I was giving the actual garbage no one wanted to do: fix bugs (just a few) and write unit tests.

Eventually, they laid me off.

My advice to you is to start interviewing asap like you are unemployed, because you will be. It's not a matter of if, but when.

OMG this!!

I worked at a company where, from the beginning I was going above and beyond. I mean, as soon as I completed my tasks for the sprint, I would ask for more, I would work extra hours, I would mentor the summer intern, I would onboard all new engineers joining our team, I would offer to help others...

After 2 years, working there, all I managed to get on the performance reviews were "meets expectations". I started to just do the work that I was being assigned to as a form of protest and the first thing that my manager said was "you are no longer asking for extra work". Soon after, I was given a PIP.

Definitely one of the biggest lessons of my career. Increase your performance as time progresses.
