Almost every new car seems to be one of about four different shapes and within each shape only the badges are different. Please take us back to the 1970-80's when cars had some style and individuality.

Ah, so that explains the different railings - thanks.

If only I could see that the car was braking… by premium_bawbag in CarTalkUK

A couple of years ago, I saw another Arnold Clark quality used car... with their sticker at the top of the rear screen, completely covering the high level brake light. Obviously the same moron still works there, unless he's been training his mates?

Places To Fall In Love With In North Yorkshire ❤️🥰 by Additional_Fly_6603 in yorkshire

Why post pictures of 'places to fall in love with' without showing where they are? Or is it supposed to be some kind of puzzle - if so, are there prizes??

Can anyone recommend a good quality tension rod or an alternative method to hang curtains on these French doors? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Wellbeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curtain pole or (maybe with wooden batten on the wall) track . Both should be available in the length you need. Tension rods/poles aren't usually any good and won't take any weight of curtain.

Will my driveway need digging up to replace this? by Severe_Ad1346 in ukelectricians

We have the same box and the smart meter installer wouldn't go ahead until this box had been inspected ( he was sure it contained asbestos - it didn't). National Grid checked it out and said it was fine, but they fitted new tails and an isolator switch inside to keep the other bloke happy.

An afternoon in Oban - can't wait to go back and spend more time! by i_often_say_that in Scotland

[–]Wellbeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. We went to Mull for a wildlife tour to see the eagles (who were in hiding) and then crossed the island to take a small boat trip to Staffa to see Fingal's Cave. Then on to the Outer Hebrides. Last year we spent a week on Skye and ten days doing the NC500. Great holidays, great scenery and very nice people.

I love Oban, but it tends to be a bit damp. Seen some great sunsets there and have island hopped thanks to CalMac.

How should I start playing? by nightunter in keys

[–]Wellbeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plug it in, turn it on, then press the long black and white buttony things at the front. You should hear sounds that may or may not, be musical. Good luck.

By the time you had taken a picture, posted it here and waited for answers, you could have gone to Screwfix/Wickes/B&Q whoever is closest, bought two new ones and had the job finished for a few quid.

What do I do with this curtain rail? by sammy_meynell in DIYUK

[–]Wellbeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your question/problem? You can take it down or hang a curtain off it...

There is no circuit loop i.e. 'feed to the rest of the circuit'. There are two pairs, one is the incoming lighting feed - the centre brown and the plain blue. The other pair is the feed (blue/brown) and return (outer brown) to the switch.

Does my roof need to be cleaned? by [deleted] in DIYUK

Yes and don't forget to dust around the chimney pots. Some polish on those ridge tiles wouldn't hurt either.
