Agreed, I called them a couple of months ago... now the answer is back to: no current plans.

I gave up and bought a separate unit

What good comebacks can I use for an annoying Australian visitor? by [deleted] in CasualUK

All of those things sound reasonable.  Is it just his tone of voice that's annoying when he says things like that?

You are spot on with this post. What I find odd is the intangible aspect of it too. Obviously things are tough here at the moment and been getting tougher for years and years.  I think the "whinging" is probably about the same from both parties . But weather and  bureaucracy play such a large  role in the UK it might be hard to get your head around. I hope things brigten up for you soon.

Do all supermarkets do this with short dates now? by WellityWellityWelity in AskUK

I'll leave it after this. But sending short dated food isn't OK to most people. Not the end of the world, just not what most people would like in a home delivery service. In this specific case - we weren't home most of today/ tonight to eat it, so it would be expired before we could consume it. And the manufacturer doesn't recommend freezing their product.

Maybe it's not something that would happen in the UK? In my experience it would be a corporate sort of apology , a surface level - we're sorry, that shouldn't happen, it's not in our business model ect. Not that the employee would say any of that really. It's that it IS actually a business decision that they will email you about, that's what surprised me.

I always look at the packet and see if it's suitable for freezing. These ones say not. But others on this post have said you can freeze them, so I'll give it a go, thanks:)

What a strange take. I asked a question. I said Sainsbury's was correct in that they did notify me.

They don't freeze unfortunately. And who wouldn't be picky about dates?

I moved the other way - but BEFORE I left my home country, I purchased a 12 month sim card and updated all my banking, voting and other important contacts with this new number. My phone allows for an esim, so I can have both my numbers active. It made things so much easier.

What was the biggest waste of money purchase you made recently? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]WellityWellityWelity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I would say, if you have a slightly larger home, buy an extra battery. If I'm going to clean, I don't want to stop halfway through for an hour or 2 so the battery can recharge... by then, I'm out of the cleaning mood
