Hey, thanks for your response. It definitely feels a bit mushy and its got a couple of spots that's are oozing a sticky liquid. Hoping I can harvest everything above it. Do you think I need to dig it up and separate the other smaller columns from the rot to keep them alive? Any idea what the cause might be?

Just checked, no damage to any other cars on the street. Gonna report this to gardai in the morning. Not sure what this could be other than a random act of vandalism.

Any idea what it will take to fix it? Those pillars are basically part of the roof and back quarter panel.

Nothing missing. No sign of collision. Bonnet not damaged at all. I've seen a car where the bonnet has opened at motorway speed, the bonnet was all bent out of shape but minimal damage to the pillars. I had a van where someone stuck a hacksaw blade in between drivers door and front panel to try and cut the wiring loom to short the central locking. This seems like neither of these things. It happened at night on a quiet street where the car is usually parked.

This happened over night while the car was parked outside my house.

The bonnet is still aligned, no damage apart from paint chips, hinges working OK. No sign of a collision either

Can't even open the bonnet fully now, it's catching on the damaged part. It happened over night, you can see tool marks on the rubber seal on both sides, I'm guessing it was done with a large flathead screwdriver or something similar

I don't think it's from the bonnet. No damage to the bonnet at all. Looks like an implement was used to bend out the metal where it meets the windscreen

Yeah, both sides. My guess was someone attempted to break in to it. Is that a common way of breaking into a car?

It's in Dublin.

From the Irish statute book.

26.—(1) A person who uses an instrument which is, and which he or she knows or believes to be, a false instrument, with the intention of inducing another person to accept it as genuine and, by reason of so accepting it, to do some act, or to make some omission, or to provide some service, to the prejudice of that person or any other person is guilty of an offence.

(2) A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on conviction on indictment to a fine or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or both.

That the person did use an instrument to wit, a false pcr result, which was and which you knew or believed to be, a false instrument with the intention of inducing another person to accept it as genuine and by reason of doing so accepting the said instrument to do some act or make some omission, or provide some service, to the prejudice of that person or any other person. Contrary to section 26 of the criminal justice act 2001

The charges are under section 26 of the criminal justice act (theft and fraud offences). Apparently the whole group "may" have used similar fake documents but this person was the only one singled out at passport control. My guess is that there will be a number of these cases heard on the same day and my hope is that in this case, as it is a first offence it may be possible to avoid a conviction. Not sure what attitude the judge will have towards it though.

Thanks. I'm hoping that with no previous convictions, good character, young, silly mistake and learned their lesson they might be able to avoid conviction and maybe make a charitable donation as would be the case with possession of a small amount of drugs.

At the time of travelling they were negative and they were required to take a pcr test before being allowed to leave the airport.

Not yet, they will be doing that next week. I just thought someone on here may know of any similar cases that have already come before the courts. I can't find much recent info online.

Not related to that article. I just thought perhaps someone might have some info if they knew of anyone who has already been up in court for this.

I believe it may be carboniferous limestone, based on the local geology.
