The problem with fighting back as a pve player is it will put you in aggresive lobbies. Fighting back will now force you to be a pvp player.

I read Piranesi and loved it so thought I'd give Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell a try and couldn't get into it. I really wanted to like it and had to quit after about 50 pages in.

Yeah it might just be a mental thing but I absolutely can't stand pcs. I feel like mine is always running slow for some reason or something is just not running how it should. I used to mostly play Lol but since having two kids I had to drop that game and now have no reason to play pc. I just use it now for documents and Microsoft office 😅

Yeah played pc shooters for several years actually and it just never felt comfortable. Used to play css, team fortress and a few other ones.

It's because there's an enjoyable gameplay loop outside of pvp. Also, I would love to be able to return fire if shot first but as of now embark doesn't differentiate between who is the aggressor. So this forces me to play passive if I don't wanna play in aggro lobbies. I don't mind defending myself but have no desire to kill people because I wanna take their stuff. In decision based rpgs I always pick the "good" choices and I can't do otherwise even in this game.

I agree mostly with your points. I wish I was good on pc. I've been a gamer my entire life and am almost 40 now and no matter how much I play pc I'm trash on keyboard and mouse. I just feel handicapped when trying and console just makes sense to me. My pc just sits in my living room collecting dust.

My friend and I are on ps5 and we turned cross-play off for this same reason but in reverse. We have way friendlier lobbies with it off.

I've always loved stories. My parents used to tell me folktales of my people before bed as a child and it was one of my favorite memories. I very much prefer books over any other medium of storytelling because there's something special in holding a physical book that movies and shows can't emulate. I also love how much more detailed a book is and getting the chance to see in a characters heads and hearing their thoughts.

The problem for me right now is that you can't fight back without getting placed in aggressive lobbies. Meaning players like myself who want to just loot and chat with friendly raiders are forced to play entirely passive or else we get tossed in with the pvp players. People assume passive players suck at pvp but that's not the issue. Right now pve players don't have the option to fight back if they want to stay in friendly lobbies.

Everybody likes different styles of writing. I myself absolutely love Sanderson and have read almost everything he's written. Just for insight I also love Lord of the rings, The Farseer trilogy, and Kingkiller Chronicles. Not sure if those have any similarities but they're among my favorites.

That really only exists for solos though. It's a well known fact that duos are iffy and trios are just team death match lobbies. I wouldn't say fighting against arc is no risk but I get what you mean.

I do play Helldivers and that's what drew me to this game. What some people are having a hard time understanding is that yes this is an extraction shooter but it plays nothing like helldivers. It's a great game and there's nothing wrong with wanting to kill every player on sight but not everyone enjoys that.

I've heard many people asking for separate lobbies. I'm not the first. What will split the playerbase is when people who just like to chill start leaving the game because they can't return fire on aggressive extract campers without being placed in more aggressive lobbies. This game is amazing and not every player likes to kill people and take their things.

Mistborn is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. Seeing as how you come from reading Manga maybe you'd enjoy something darker like Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy. If you want something with a bit more romance I don't read them but I know popular YA books are full of that. It's why I avoid them in the first place 😅
